Everything after saints row 1 is non-canon
>>
Everything before 3 is fucking shit
>>
>>743395375
3’s the worst one though
>>
>>743395920
4 and the deboot are way fucking worse than 3 and you're literally mentally ill if you think otherwise
>>
>1980's prequel idea was shot down but saints in space with super powers n sheit was green lit
>Saints Row reboot had some really good concepts during its "SR Cinco" guise that were rejected by publishers until the current shit we got was approved
What am I missing? Why are game publishers hellbent on making detestable shit instead of good games that people are more likely to get milked paying for predatory micro transactions or cosmetic packs
Might do another playthrough of SR1 since Xenia mousehook makes the game really nice to play
>>
>>743396128
>Xenia mousehook
QRD? was thinking of emulating soon
>>
>>743395920
For some reason I hate Steelport so fucking much as a city that even the reboot felt preferable to 3 or 4.

Not that it is worth it to spend much brainpower comparing 3 and reboot, because the powergap between 2 and everything after it is so tectonically massive that it hardly matters how one ranks the game on the wrong side of the gap.

Oh, these arguments. Again. They're all fine except GOOH and the reboot which I haven't played but everyone seems to agree that they sucked.
Just don't go into 4 expecting 2. Get really, really high and you'll have a blast.
>>
>>743396345
Everything looks good when you're really high.
>>
>>743396405
Some things are unplayable when you're high. SR4 isn't. SR3 might be, haven't tried it. The minigun brutes spawning every 10 seconds is fucking bullshit.
>>
>>743396345
>the reboot which I haven't played but everyone seems to agree that they sucked
Just look up some gameplay. It's like a student project rather than something developed by an actual studio.
>>
>>743396183
It passes through the xbox controls to your keyboard and mouse. It felt really good almost like it was natively playing on KBM. I do remember some aiming floatiness if the game speed dropped though
https://www.saintsrowmods.com/forum/threads/native-mouse-injection-for-sr1-with-mousehook.21607/
Also somewhere on saintsrowmods.com is a button prompt mod to change xbox ui icons to PC ones

GOOH is a very repetitive yet short game obviously made on shoestring budget after IV. Utterly and completely skippable.

Regarding Reboot, I’m the contrarian here and say that it’s not as bad as people here often seem to think, but it’s still disappointing as fuck. The city in it is unironically best after 2, absolutely skullfucks 3’s and 4’s drab metropolis, but the main cast is bleh (more boring than annoying for me) and the plot pacing is just… weird. Too little time establishing the gang as small time gangsters, and when it ends, it ends in a fucking weird situation where the villain pulls a batshit random and dumb move that comes out of nowhere. Gameplay is basically on same level as 3, which is really not praise, as the series should have moved forwards with that.
>>
>>743395375
3 is trash. I couldn’t believe how shit it was when I replayed it, most of the missions in the campaign are just introductions to side activities and it’s pathetically short. I legit thought I was only half way through the game before realising I was on the last fucking mission.
>>
>>743395987
1 and 4 are the only good ones, 2roon/thirdditor
>>
>>743396984
1 and 2 are the only good ones
only trannies care about marvel capeshit and millennial writing in poor man's liberty city

What's going on with 2?
>>
>>743395159
I like 2 but all I fucking remember from it is the londoner accent option being pretty funny and the bit they all sing in the car. So that's probably not a good sign. I gave up on SR after that because probably the same reason everyone else who did so did.

Been a fan since 2006, done an autistic amounts of full playthroughs - here's the objective ranking.

SR2 > SR1> huge fucking powergap > SR4 > Reboot > SR3

Uh, a huge fan patch came out not too long ago that fixes a lot of shit and after 15+ years modders managed to port over the console exclusive DLC, which now makes PC the definitive version which is nice.
>>
>>743397337
Wasnt that dude in the mask the villain? Why is he standing there like he's part of the crew?
>>
>>743397747
Back in 2007, Volition tried to troll the community by saying the reason your character can troon out into a woman is because your dick got blown off the boat explosion.

>>743397703
Everything about 3 is so baffling that I don't card to question it anymore.
>>
>>743397883
Could be an early version of Angel de la Muerte
>>
>>743397883
I believe that is Angel in a suit, though this design never made it to the game. If you forgot who Angel is, I don't blame you.
>>
>>743398154
To be fair, Hulk Hogan totally phoned it in as Angel so of course everyone forgot about him.
>>
4 was fun I wish they tried the gta with superpowers formula again

>3 of them betray you, the other 2 die like retards
nice crew
>>
The most fun I've had in any Saints Row game.
>Play 3
>Get your notoriety up to 4 or 5 against the police or Morning Stars
>Get yourself to Killbane's Casino
>Walk in through the front door and camp out there.
>Wait until the max amount of enemies have appeared
>Go into the casino and run to the back of the main room.
>Wait for the enemies to all follow you into the main room.
>Recreate the shootout scene from 300 Miles for Graceland as bullets hit every slot machine possible.
>>
Did anything come up from the prequel idea?

Nothing says gangster like a flamboyant spic with a waffle tattoo, a black nerd straight from Big Bang Theory, and Womyn™
>>
>>743398853
Troy didn't betray you. He did his duty as a Saint and did everything for you in his power as police chief
>>
>>743395159
Playa died in the first game and becomes a semi-legend of the Saints
Gat got sent to the chair
Julius OD'd in a ditch like the bitch ass snake he is
Troy quit the force after taking the saints down
-> You start here
write your own SR2 plot, OP.

Understandable, GTA is the mainstream gold standard, most zoomers grew up on it. GTA-likes like Saints Row, True Crime, and Driver to a lesser extent however are more for older, enthusiasts of open world crime simulators.
