>see this on sale>remember xenonauts 1 was a fun game althought it was stupidly hard>get it anyway cos it's on my wishlist for ages and I wanna play it>have a blast for the first 15 hours>then it turns into a horrible quickload simulator as aliens just 1 shot you at any range with reaction fire>ask for tips from other players>they REEeeeeeeee about nuXcom even when it's not mentioned>they say its normal to lose 40 soldiers per campaign just let them all die bro>refuse and keep slogging>game just gets worse and worse>give up after quickloading 10+ times in a single missionWell, that was lame, first 15 hours were great though
>>743396009i criticized it harshly two years ago in EA for not being balanced and never picked it up again - not surprised at all - some devs don't play their own games
Skill issue.
2 shield, 3 shotgun, 3 sniper, and 2 murderbots. Kit them out in the best shit u can make. Congrats you just won easily.
>>743396009Xenonauts 1-2 both suffer from an inability to effectively look around corners, without just triggering a thousand reaction shots. One way to circumvent it, is to take a robot vehicle with you on missions and use it to scout, but that makes your team smaller, plus the robot doesn't get exp, and you end up with your team never splitting up or doing anything other than snailing with "stay behind the robot"
I like xcom over xenonauts just like I prefer rimworld over dorf because you dont have to have 600 soldiers/colonists where 300 of them die each battle and are immediately replaced
On babybitch experienced difficulty I beat it with about a dozen dead, mostly retarded expendables, with some scumming. Other ppl have done it with 0 casualties; so u must be going full retard. You shouldve figured out the formula> adjust squad to add shield, theyre OP> extra sniper too> give someone a stungun to abduct guys for rape> nade gun is strong but blows up loot> park robot outside walls at end of round so he can roll in and rape> save civilians / use them as meat> place your base to focus on one OP region, overlook a few others, and ignore oneIts true tho JA2 1.13 has better control over your dudes. Needs sidestep and crouching backwards
>>743398849Blessed post anon
>>743398849>Make my squad>3 Shields. 3 Shotguns. 2 rifles. 1 Sniper.>March in Phalanx formation up and down the map killing every enemy we see.>Swap out dudes to ensure the injured ones are never at the front.>Never lose a guy.
>>743396009It's has some kind of hidden "fuck you" penalty for not using cover like nuXCOM.>have aggressive playstyle where I like to train all soldiers to be soft demolitionists (C4 charges, and grenades out the ass)>think I can just blow cover and pop these assholes when exposed>consistently miss 80 and 90%, especially shield units that I use for breaching >enemies consistently hit (what I consider), 60 and 70% shots through smoke and obstruction penaltiesAlso.>enemies typically make the most optimized moves that hard counter your decisions
