Once you skip all the overly indulgent cutscenes and Codec calls this game is surprisingly short

yes and the level design in the big shell is awful. The struts are redundant and should never have even existed. The hex rooms are all very small and with limited potential. The second zone of rooms was clearly just left unfinished since the game sends you immediately to the emma rescue in the middle and then you are into the endgame. It's terrible and they try to cover for it by inventing the fatman to have you backtrack and pad out time
>>743399883True. There’s like 3 hours of actual game.
MGS1, 2, 3, and 4 are all like that. Even Peace Walker's story can be completed extremely quickly if you ignore the side ops.
>>743399883yeah you can beat it in a day
that's all of them except 3 and V
>>7434037133 has unskippable walking in the forest/cave segments and V has the shitty hospital
>>74339988310/10 story but worst gameplay in the series
yet its mechanically the most fun to play even with the very limited play areasI highly prefer replaying it over mgs3 My ideal game would to just take mgs2 entire system and insert into a new game with massive area diversity
>>743399883it really upset me how you finally open up the big shell level and you have this massive map and you only really get to explore half of it at your own pace. they obviously spent way too much time on the tanker
>>743404992>worst gameplay in the seriesbut that's 3
gen alphas trying to larp as contrarian millennials are so cute
The final section on Arsenal Gear should've been longer
Just means it's not bloated
>>743404992No, it's better than 1 and 3
This guy cause so much butt hurt
mgs2 has abnormally good writing for kojima, the entire final AI speech to raiden (and to the player) is cheffs kiss
>>743408080I can't stealth properly with his rubber ass flopping around. It's distracting!
>>743404992nah its peak arcade design
>>743399883there's like 200 vr missions that I'm pretty sure 99% of people forgot they exist
