Diminishing returns. Modeling, texture work and everything else takes so much more time and man power now, but you can barely tell. And in some cases, because the team is so vast with so much outsource work pouring in everyday, it ends up looking worse because there's no consistency or cohesive artistic vision. 343 is a prime example. No idea why AAA studios are sticking to this development style when it doesn't work, takes so long, and is incredibly expensive. You'd think the publisher would step in and reign in the scope, but somehow it never happens.
