kill yourself cris
>>743403248normies =/= chuds
>>743403248I don't really care if something was made with a machine in 5 seconds or composd by a industry veteran for 5 years, I only care if the end product is goodAnd ai is really bad at making appealing end products
I dont really care if a game has AI code unless it runs like dogshit. If a game uses AI assets though it signals to me that it was made with fuck all effort and im way less likely to pay full price on it. Hell even if it was $20 knowing it has AI assets still makes me less inclined to buy it.
>>743403371I don’t really know who cris is but he posts funny cats so he’s alright in my book
I'm playing old smt games and can't be arsed to care about the absolute state of modern gaymes. I come to /v/ to laugh at npc niggers bawling about the AAA industry taking a big dump on them and asking them $80 for a new title ( soon to be a fixed price with no physical copies + inflation bullshit excuse to reduce promotions ). Enjoy GTAVI.
>>743403248Correlation does not equal causation. The new star f*x game used AI in development and chuds are raving about it. The reason that AI games don't sell on steam is because they are low effort slop, churned out as a joke or to capitalise on a trend.
There's only 3 ways you can possibly justify selling an AI game:>Thanks to the labor costs savings, we're releasing what would have been a $20 game for $2>Thanks to time savings, we're releasing a AAA game in 2 years instead of 6>Thanks to labor efficiency, we've dramatically scaled up the scope and features of our game in a way that pushes gaming forwardBut of course they don't do any of that, they sell their $10 minimal effort friendslop that they made in a month hoping that Caseoh makes it go viral.
>>743403248>every single game created from 2025 onward has been coded with AIyou'll have to find a way to cope with this fact
Well if it's blatantly obvious that AI was used, yeah, people are going to be pissed. If you're going to use it you have to do it secretly and subtly enough that nobody notices.
>>743404765I find it funny that AI assets are a deal breaker for people considering how shit game art has been in the past. Assets constantly clip through other assets, extremely noticeable pop-in, Concorde character design etc.I really don't mind if a game AI generated portraits and icons. Chances are they would look better than human drawn anyway.
>>743404765AI assets are like stock assets. Fine for $0 or even $10 but you gotta work harder for $80
>>743405273Thats because youre likely brown, a gen alpha whos used to things being soulless and terrible, or you're just generally unintelligent. What you want is aesthetics which many western games lack in favor of ugliness. AI slop is another form of ugliness especially when its extremely noticeable. Youre encouraging laziness instead of actual improvement
Anyone can look up who worked on your game. It's not really possible to hide Ai use. Some fake Ai profiles won't be enough.
>>743403248It's not like hand crafted games sell either
>>743405484Can't wait for the market to have hipsters that only buy hand crafted farm raised eco friendly locally sourced video games.
>>743403248Not buying the slop. Maybe if it's perpetually half price
>>743405696not gonna happen pixelshit era is over
What is it with this retarded propaganda? Some of the highest selling games recently used AI in some form and were pretty blatant about it.
>>743405692@grok superimpose this post on the bellcurve meme as the midwit with ai gods on left and right
>He found that, on average, and after accounting for other factors (like luck and developer experience and skill)>like lucksolid methodology right there
>>743405825It's fine when Activision does it
>>743405273>Assets constantly clip through other assets, extremely noticeable pop-in,has nothing to do with the art and the fact that you even brought this up means you are probably retarded
>>743407227It absolutely has to do with art. If assets clip through each other then it means nobody checked whether the two assets are compatible. It happens all the time, even in AAA games, where elf ears just poke through hoods, hair clips through a cape or collar, or armored shoulders clip through a character's head. These are really noticeable when you play the game using these items, but nobody bats an eye when it happens. Yet they typically have an easy fix. >>743405450Read the above. We already accept laziness. Clipping issues have a pretty easy fix - all you have to do is put together commonly used armors/looks in a game and see if they clip. Then adjust things to make them not clip. BUT NOBODY DOES THIS.
>>743405273if the free slop machine made it, why should I pay for it?
Anyone who thinks AI code is okay but hates AI art in games is not a human, but a retard indie """"""""""dev""""""""" who will happily save money by not hiring programmers but will get buttfucking mad when the positions are reversed. Code is copyrighted>B-but i dont SEE AI code-Do you think your characters move by pixie dust retard
>>743408270talk to literally anyone who has used blender for more than 20 hours please
>>743405273Dont bother, people who shat on asset flips just a few years ago will buy the same game at the same price because it's human
>>743403248Sup cris
I love you cris!
>>743403248>chuds
>>743408678Do you play games to look at the assets or to play a game? >>743410380I have. >>743410451And then they'll complain about how the gameplay sucks.
>>743410380Japanese games do this all the time.
>>743404836>I don't really know who cris ishe's a really talented game dev, basically 4chan's version of notch.
>>743405273nobody's gonna buy your shit ai slop
>>743403248It won't matter (in any industry) if they're not forced to disclose it. And good luck getting old, crusty lawmakers to change the rules.
>>743411528I'm amazed Disney didn't take the chance to rework the copyright system for the tenth time in a row.Though, these antis sure want to change it to a point where you can't even use Dracula in your media anymore.Goodbye SMT and Fate/Stay.
>>743403248Normies are goycattle luddite
>>743403248I doubt they're comparing like to likebut I also bet a lot of AI coding is just not admitted to and steam isn't going to get your source code to check. It's AI art assets that are obvious and look like shit anyway
>>743403248Not clicking that, fuck you.First step is identifying what deserves the "AI game" title. How much of the game needs to be "AI"? I've seen some people shank Jap devs for using AI images as inspiration, while another game might be full of AI """placeholder""" art and get away with a slap on the wrist.Another important factor is where they got the 53% from. Does that include the "FURRY WAIFU LOVE 8 PAWSITIVELY PLUSHIE <3" slop way at the bottom of Steam? There's a fuckload of those, wouldn't that fuck the numbers? How accurate was the "not using AI" category in the math? E33 and Arc Raiders both had AI content in them on release. Wouldn't they fuck the numbers up too?
>>743403248Most people will not give a fuck if a game was made with AI as long as it's not blatant smeared slop. You'll have faggots on TroonSky and Reddit throw a fucking hissyfit, but if a high quality AAA game was made with AI and was good, people will buy it.
>>743403248matese parce
AI generated assets look cheap and lazy. People dont want games that look cheap and lazy. Simple as.
>>743403248only 53%? So half the goycattle still buy it?
