My entire platoon is traumatized and out of service for >one week after this run. One of them loses hp at the sight of an alien. This game is great.
Are there combat androids in this game :D
>>743404015Don't think so.
>>743403316you are very unlucky or very bad at strategy games.>>743404015there's like a tech class where you can have a little drone you deploy, but I think that's it.
>>743404153>you are very unlucky or very bad at strategy games. These are lvl 1 Marines, I got them through almost three entire floors of a midgame area. They're physically too broken to continue lol, if you can see two of them can't walk anymore.
>>743404515okay, I'm a little shit. I only beat the game on medium. that said, if you pad out squads you shouldn't have trouble covering the deficiencies of the newbies.
I sure love when OPs don't even give the name of the game they're trying to shill.
Game would be more enjoyable if it wasn't so easy to get compounding negative resting eventsI sat there once with the doom timer off just ending the day over and over again and 95% of the days had mental breaks or some other retarded trauma buildupalso the infestation level is boring as fuck, it just adds warriors to swarms>>743408814rub a few braincells together and you can figure out what game it issee aliens movie themed UIgoogle "aliens strategy game"
>>743408814It's aliens dark descent. It's pretty okay and very buggy. At least back when I first played it. Very unforgiving too. If anybody does check it out install the aliens sound effect and soundtrack mod for full immersion
>>743408980I have never seen an Aliens movie in my life.>>743409050Thanks, Anon.
This game is amazing, they really nailed down that one scene from Aliens.
>>743409548The endless waves and spawns are kinda wonky tho. Those first missions are really kino though
>>743409801At some point later when you understand the mechanics and get upgrades, you start dominating, so having mechanics to stop you from feeling 100% safe is ok imo.
I loved the game but hated those fucking facehugger eggs. Yes I totally realized that the tech drone could deal with them silently and this wasn't a discovery I've made post playthrough
What a coincidence, I just started this game yesterday.I'm still on my first mission to the settlement and the game seems to really want you to sneak past all the xenomorphs, is that really the way to go?
>>743408980I don't think your dumb ass can comprehend just how incredibly generic both the OP screenshot and your description really is.
I saved scummed too hard playing xcom
>>743410543In general you want to avoid contact as much as possible but there are plenty of segments where your only option is to go loud. Keep in mind that resources are finite and you can actually deplete the drops on each map so that there's no more toolkits or medkits or ammo drops etc. Invest in a sniper because they can stealthily take out ayylmaos, the game is borderline impossible if you don't utilize this.
>>743410543It's a stealth game at its core, you can fight your way out of an alert, but the limited resources means that it's a losing war if you keep getting spotted.
man I wish I had seen this during the steam sale, looks cool but im not paying $70 Australian francs for this.
>>743403316I enjoyed my playthrough, though it was on normal difficulty. Never lost anyone, but that "Everyone survives!" achievement still felt weird to get given the ending, I would have literally rather have had the last hurrah with the A-team be Objective: Survive until every single sentry, gun, and action points were dry rather than have them all killed practically offscreen during a cutscene. Is the game modabble? I know the in-game settings had a lot of options to play around with but I kept them all on their defaults. I'm more interested if there are any player-made maps and such. And if not, sequel WHEN
>>743411123They didn't die off screen, they were holding the LZ while the "main characters" were doing the scripted final sequence underground. When the survivors make it out and fly away it's only because your A-Team was still topside fighting off aliens to keep an exit secured.
>>743411712I guess I don't remember the specifics very well, my bad. I'd have still lime to have played that final stand myself, after that "main character" mission (which I did not care for very much). Hell, it should have had a timer so players could show their holdout highscores off to each other.
>tfw you find the movie APC and can start bringing an additional marine
>>743410674>>743410795Shit. Thanks.I got ambushed by two xenomorphs on the bridge between building and they almost kill one of my guy.
>game for some reason switches to mostly boring cookie cutter human enemies and human centric missions halfway inWHY?!Why would they drop it from a potential 9/10 to 7/10 by just making the second half of the game be a boring humans vs humans a lot of the time?"We have this super interesting alien species that we can use as much as we want in our game. What should we do? OH I KNOW! Let's put boring ass humans in instead!"Some devs just can't resist bending over and taking the thick cock of failure up their ass whenever possible it seems.
>>743414817Reminded me about the introduction of robots in deep rock galactic. You have these squishy swarmy bugs that are fun to kill, with bits of them flying off, them using the destructible terrain in fun way and other cool aspects to them. And then you introduce a new enemy, static looking flying robots which you fight mostly by just shooting them and watching their health bar go to zero. ZERO synergy with the rest of the game, ZERO fun fighting them. Plain as fuck. Nobody likes fighting them and their missions are always at the bottom of most liked mission lists and polls.Goes to show how some devs don't really have any clue about why a fun part of their game is fun exactly. Sorta like they just lucked out.
>>743414817the worst part is how they barely elaborate on the cult using weird tech to keep the chestbursters in stasis so the aliens don't just maul the cultists. that and the lack of variety in xenos. the first time you see the praetorian or the crusher you're like: oh fuck what sort of new challenge will they throw at me? then you find out that's all the juice they had and it's all downhill from here
