Even setting aside the romance stuff, just the interactions between the characters, redemption, Rinoa falling under Ultimecia's spell, etc. Everything lines up. Just try to imagine it for a second and put the story together in your head that way, you'll see how it clicks into place.

I meant Rinoa literally falling under her control in game, when she splits off by herself, would fit better in several later scenes with Seifer, specifically the boss fight with Seifer as Ultimecia's "knight".
