I started playing games with pure text like zork, so even basic dungeon crawlers or ultima felt like a miraclethese days, super mario world just looks like an old mario game, but at the time, it was a seemingly miraculous increase in color, creativity, level design, gameplay options, and every big super famicon game felt like a major change to the industryunfortunately thousands of clearly inferior versions of every 16 bit game have been made, and without that context of playing the original, the pixel slop really is pixel slop, its a copy of something that hasn't been fresh in decades
