New to the game here. A mushroom guy appeared at one of my houses but someone told me in a different thread that you need to make a biome by placing a 100 mushrooms for the guy to show up.And I sure as hell havent done that, only got 1 (ONE) mushroom grass seed after 10 minutes of slashing mushrooms.Bug or intended? Is this guy a somewhat relevant npc since it takes a lot to get him or what?

Mushroom biomes require 100 tiles of viable mushroom terrain. Mushroom grass spreads on the surface of bare mud, so most people make a grid of 100 mud and plant one mushroom grass seed in it so that it can spread, and eventually make 100 blocks of viable mushroom grass for a mushroom biome.tl;dr It's intended, what anon told you is simply outdated/he didn't elaborate. The mushroom NPC is only really relevant if you're trying to make the post-plantera ranger armor set.
