Seeing as an Anon has chosen to spend his life making his own Dead Space clone that's inspired by Virus comics.

I thought i would ask since, I'm an enjoyer of dead space myself.

How do we improve it's gameplay?

While third person OTS cameras are a somewhat passable way to deal with how bad dynamic 3D cameras on console controllers are, they are ultimately just an excuse to commission guro and ryona smut with company assets as evidenced by titles like Dead Space, Tomb Raider and Mario.
Dead Space would be improved if it wasn't third person over the shoulder, since the omniscient observation position just gives the player too much information and takes them out of the experience, the fact that the game needs to rely on vents for its jump scares due to the player otherwise just knowing about everything is a pretty heavy indictment against it.

something like Leon's parry would be useful on tight spaces

Unironically doom 3 lighting but don't just have a flash light

I know it's not my business to tell you what to do but that dead space writing with blood on the walls would be enough to make me not to want to play
