Imagine playing Kirby 64 completely unspoiled back in the day and having no idea you're going to fight an angel with a bleeding eyeball. Must have been quite the shock back then.Unfortunately even though I played it back then, I knew about 02 going in because I remember I was excited about the game reading about it on some Kirby fansite, probably some old Geocities or something, and she had imported the Japanese version so she posted about the secret true final boss. So I got spoiled. But I didn't mind, it was still great. Gave me more incentive to actually collect all the shards if anything.
