Give me one good fucking reason there's no remake.>they lost the source code!So what? It's not fucking rocket science, fans have already been reverse engineering it and a group of paid professionals could surely manage. Even if they can't make a fully faithful "remaster" then a "close enough" remake is doable.>It's a niche genre / "RTS is dead"The C&C Remastered Collection sold incredibly well and every cunting streamer played it when it came out. There's money on the table.>tiberian sun sux lole red alert 2 is betterRed Alert 2 is the series darling because it's the last isometric sprite-based game/engine in the series before they made the switch to 3D. People ADORE the tiberium saga. People loved Renegade and C&C3. Just because C&C4 shat the bed doesn't mean the love for the tiberium universe up and died.>Petroglyph doesn't want to do itthey're literally making a Renegade spiritual successor right now. They want another shake at Tiberian Sun so bad you can practically smell it.>uncslop lmaocease existing
They'd never be able to recapture the magic of TS's atmosphere. That was lightning in a bottle stuff.
>>743423050My only issue with TS was the cutscenes. I don't want some shitty sci fi channel movie starring Slavik or McNeil, I want to be treated as the Commander like in the other games. At least Firestorm fixed this.
>>743423050>Give me one good fucking reason there's no remake.I will not, especially after the C&C + Red Alert remake did well.
>>743423050EA doesn't need a reason. "No" is enough of a good reason.
EA decided that people don’t care about Tiberium saga now that CnC Rivals failed.
>>743423309
>>743423050The reason is EA is retarded. Not exactly breaking news.
>>743423050they didn't lose the source codeWhen EA bought Westwood, the original code was held on some home computer from one of the developers, same with RA2He nuked the computer after EA started making Generals and claimed 'the drive failed'
>>743423050All remakes suck
>>743423168It took them a while to realize Kane was the main event. Like an embarrassingly long time.
>>743423559Remaster anon, REMASTER. Not RemakeC&C remake was/is good.
>>743423592to be fair OpenRA is still a better experience than the remaster. They've been "working on" Tiberian Sun for a long time but it's pathetically slow going.
>>743423781>to be fair OpenRA is still a better experience than the remaster. To be fair about what? The question isn't if someone can make a good open version of a game or not. The question is when are they gonna give us TA remaster.
>>743423168>Tactical predictions give a 98% chance of favorable ourcome.>Define favorable outcome, CABAL>THEY ALL DIE>That'll doThose cutscenes were the best
they're gonna skip straight to the Generals remake, calling it now
>>743423050>WAAAAH GIVE ME REMAKE SLOPQuiet piggy
>>743426443I want my childhood series to continue
>>743423050It's dead unc, get over it
>>743427549nice star trek reference
>>743426285>touching GLA in our Moloch infested world 2026not happening, especially with the current chimpout between middle east and US
>Petroglyph doesn't want to do it they're literally making a Renegade spiritual successor right now. They want another shake at Tiberian Sun so bad you can practically smell it.What?
>>743423050C&C Ultimate collection got delisted out of nowhere here in Brazil a month before i was about to buy it, fucking great
>>743428002
>>743428076use gray market, macaco brogg deals or allkeyshop
>>743428076imagine openly admitting to being both brazillian and a buyfag
C&C3 was such a shit game, and they butchered Kane. Absolutely retardation without Westwood's independence
>>743428498https://youtu.be/g5jKGL8wkf0
>>743426285If EA had any plans to touch Generals again, they wouldn't have open sourced it a few years backIf you want a remaster or a remake of it, then go make one yourself
>>743427421Ruining the classics with remakes is not "continuing". It's zombification.
>>743428182EA like many other cancer publishers doesn't have third party keys Retarded-kunAnd i'm not even sure if someone gift for me from a Latam region inside steam it would even work or just block it, well fuck EA i guess
>>743423050The only thing I need is right-click move.
>>743428817you're too cynical and fat
>>743423050The original TD and RA1 remaster was a happy accident. A higher up C-suit in EA had played the series when younger and had fond memories of it. So he pushed through the relatively cheap job and the ex-westwoodians had pretty laid back time working on it. Recovering the source code and original assets like cassette tapesThe C-suit moved on and since C&C is not cowadoody level, the revival was laid to restNot releasing the source code to public for enthusiasts to tinker on is the real shit part about the story. Or the original FMV tapes to public domain. But all signs indicate both of them have been lost completely, so what else is left? Assets like sprite work can be ripped from retail and for HD it needs a complete rework like they did with remaster. Outsourcing to a SEA subcontractor studio
Stop demanding demakes for games that don't need them. What the fuck is wrong with you?
>>743423050They remade the first oneAlso just play the OpenRA version, otherwise the original + CnC.net is fine. Why are you so desperate to spend $30 on a shitty remake?
>>743429216>Also just play the OpenRA versiongive me a link to OpenRA Tiberian Sun.
The CIA funds dried up.Westwood was given money and protips about how terrorist factions would become the next bad guys back in 1998.But the american government no longer invest into these types of video games like they used to.
>>743429250Check the mod-db page, the top one listed there is good.Or just play the original since it works fine.
>>743429384so you're talking about the vibe coded mod made by a schizo that's riddled with bugs and insane engine quirks?
>>743429060Damn, that was extremely based.
>>743423050Do you really expect much from EA? Dead Space remake sold around 2 million copies and yet it's consider a flop. They prefer to make profit from ball and gun cumsumers rather than trying something risky. It got soo bad that Richard Garriott (Lord British) decided to obtain the Ultima trademark back by using the US copyright loophole rather than waiting for the response.
