yeah, proton is awesome as it has made linux finally viable as an OS, but don't even mention hypervisor in the same breath as if it was a good thing.

one compromised hypervisor crack and your PC is fucked on the hardware level.
>>
>>743423694
>hypervisor
no.
>>
>>743425790
From what I heard the Linux version of these cracks doesn't need low level access like on wangblows, meaning they're safe.
>>
>>743425790
the linux version runs in userspace, the proton version used is open sourced

doesn't need a hypervisor in most cases
>>
>>743426073
>Apart from not needing a hypervisor in most cases there is also another benefit with this; every part of this, apart from disabling UMIP, is limited to the Wine/game process by design.
>KUSER_SHARED_DATA is inherently a Windows data structure, no other process uses it or even has access to it.
amazing, total linux victory
>>
>>743425790
Doesn't need hypervisor anymore on zen 4+

no thank you

NO MORE HYPERVISOR
>>

On zen4+
>>
>>743423694
>supporting linux means supporting piracy

I mean, they are right
I will probably try it on my linux laptop

for amd, intel has the instruction needed, the hypervisor is open source
>>
>>743426709
Correct
I'm on zen 3 :/
>>
Hey Negros. Why does the aspect of a 9 to 5 scare you?
>>
>>743426459
Very good, so how do we install it then on our PCs? I still want to keep windows also
>>
>>743426801
>still have 9 to 5
>leech some slop from companies big enough to pay for denuvo
>keep more money for myself
>????????
>profit

>>743426871
its just a proton version and a boot param, cs rin ru is your friend
>>
>>743426801
>use my wageslave money to send the guy who developed this some monero instead of paying for ass creed black flag (again)
your move negro
>>
>>743423694
Between this and voices38, Denuvo is so over
>>
>>743427410
Ironic truth is that all these games are bad. I don't want to even pirate some 150+ GB denuvo turd, regardless.
>>
>>743423694
>zen 3 or below
>Or below
LOL you have to have an old PC
>>
Based, we troonixtroons can finally play the latest AAA troonslop for free!
>>
>>743427589
This. I'm not downloading 100gb+ moviegame sloppa. Shits so unappealing I don't even take them for free from the EGS when they give them away. Dogshit committee-designed games.
>>
>>743427663
old non-intel pc needs a small hypervisor, otherwise its hypervisor-free
>>
>>743425790
Userspace means it can run at the same level as any other program and is thus subject to the same restrictions.
In layman's terms, if Windos allowed the shame, windows defender or your antivirus would be able to detect and stop hypervisor if it detected it's doing shady shit.

What is zen? Haven't upgraded my machine in 10 years and completely out of the loop. CPU architecture?
>>
>>743429112
Yes buddy. The Ryzen 5000 is zen 3
>>
>>743426871
Are you asking how to install a Linux distro?
>>
>>743423694
>year of the linux desktop
this time for sure https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4FlL1FCbvA
>>
>>743423694
I'm on Linux and from then once I'm done with my backlog I will pirate exclusively, I'm done entirely with this market, with these platforms etc.
If I'm interested in a game, I might contact the dev myself ask him to send me the game outside the steam, gog or whatever and I'll send him money, ofc thats only for indie devs, but still. I'm sick and tired of this industry and steam is a piece of shit for removing a lot of game from my wishlist and not even telling what they removed, Jewish scumbags, no different from that timmy faggot epic launcher or whatever
