Let's assume the game is older than you, right? Why would you buy it NOW? There's no nostalgia in it that you could relate to.

I liked it back in the day, and if I were to collect stuff like that, might even pick it up again, if my original copy was lost. But I'm a 40+ boomer, so it makes more sense in my case.

I basically just got myself a CRT TV and a raspi to run it with lakka 240p

the game looked very captivating to me in its presentation, instantly reminded me of Fumito Ueda style minimalism and mysticism. I also like traditional arcade focused gameplay. rail shooters themselves are also basically an all but dead genre, so you're more incentivised to reach for the classics.

This is true. And it's kind of surprising that more indie games haven't stepped up. There are some StarFox clones, but that's about it.
