Underwater content in Archeage is pretty scant and not very fun. Almost everything you're going to be doing is on the surface or land.

The deep sea is a dark, scary, almost alien place that can feel claustrophobic. Navigation is slow and difficult. Compare that to the bright, open sky that gives a sense of freedom.

AOE underwater is "weird" so gut anything. Was playing GW2 like 12 hours ago and talking about how no mmo has underwater combat or doesn't use it. Vashj'ir was so fucking peak. Blizzard catering to the normie paypigs ruined everything. Which is why I haven't effectively done raid content with guilds and friends since Cata, and I haven't touched end game in an expansion since BFA. "Nerf Heroics in cata, they're too hard, nerf this, nerf that, the underwater zone sucks." It's so fucking tiresome.

It was Blizzard being Blizzard, not the community. We're lucky to get 1 raid finished on launch now. Neptulion being kidnapped in that Throne of the Tides Dungeons by Ozumat has never been resolved until sort of BFA with Azshara, even then it was handled worse than that RISE OF THE ZANDALARI event where we at least got to know who the troll was in the trailer during BFA for some form of closure. Neptulon and the giant squid were just dropped entirely.

There's a giant snake in Zul'Drak to set up a troll raid in Wrath as well. Shit just got cut all the time when it made sense to do a raid to tie a zone + dungeon together to one.


Cata was so dope thematically but so fucking weak in gameplay everywhere aside from maybe the vanilla raids and the new zone questing. Dungeons were such a fucking disappointment, and later raids were just... not that fun for me (though I didn't do any after Firelands).

Probably about not being able to AOE effectively, or perceive depth in movement. This is a community that is unable to not fight in the middle of WSG, keyboard turns all the time, and cant start clicking an area where the flag will drop before it drops, all in the same BG.

I find it extremely perplexing that the average person can't think in three dimensional space. Some games can certainly be 'too vertical', but that's more of an issue of the way a player is allowed/able to navigate. For example a lot of games these days like to give players walls/cliffs to slowly climb for no apparent reason beyond padding playtime or slowing down the pace of gameplay.

there was this space moba called fractured space, I remember than when it came out, I'd get a lot of kills by flying below unsuspecting enemy ships and blasting them apart because most people only looked around, maybe above in some weird instance, but never below
