Most importantly though, pals only eat when they're below a certain threshold, and stop when they're over it. Berry bases mean almost no work is being done by high end pals. They eat a berry, go work for 6 seconds, then come eat another berry. Salads or Minestrone are the goals. Salad is a bit worse, but requires only a pot and two farm ingredients, Minestrone is better, but requires 4 ingredients, at least a kitchen, and good cook pals to make it reasonably fast. Salad is the budget option, Minestrone is the quality option. Jam rolls are an okay interim option if you need better food earlier than lettuce & tomato, but has milling as a step so sucks a little. Most of your other food options are either worse than salad, or require more work and industry than minestrone. Pizza, for example, is worse than minestrone, but requires both ranching and milling to be done, while minestrone does not. For player food, baked berries are fine, but in abstract theory, either spring rolls or vegetable stir fry are completely farmable, and provide an attack or defense buff respectively, so are the ideal. Higher end buff food like mammorest curry or cheseburgers reqyires meat, and is thus difficult to prepare in large enough quantities to be a staple, so is best reserved for difficult bosses or raids.
