Are we feeling lucky this week? The pre-orders supposedly begin on August 4th.
>>743693051"lucky" would be this never happening

not until after splatoon raiders

What are you hoping to see really? It's just a graphics pack.
If I was lucky they'd cancel it and apologize
>>743693316Ultimately, that is why people want to see a direct. Measure expectations on if this really is just an overpriced visual overhaul, or if there will be signs of new content in it.

>>743693051In any case, the Remake wasn't made by Nintendo, so my excitement is pretty low.

>>743693051It would have been neat if they made it closer to the old art. Oh well
>>743693949what does that even mean anon?
>>743693051>he lacks critical informationThose were preorder dates for Beast of Reincarnation, Gamefreak's new not-Pokemon game. Google incorrectly pulled the metadata from it.

Well if that's true, then presumably the direct will be on August the 4th, not now.Why make this thread?
>>743693051Splatoon needs to come out, then they'll start the western Fire Emblem marketing cycle, then Fire Emblem needs to come out, then after that you may start feeling lucky

>>743694054It's going to be low quality slop like the starfox demake.

>>743693051It's going to be high quality masterpiece like Tears of the Kingdom.
>>743693051If the pre-orders begin on august 4th then the direct is probably on august 4th
That GameStop listing for pre-orders on the 4th was an AI search hallucination. Nate the Hate, who first leaked the game's existence to begin with' deboonked that pre-order date.
>>743698101Shut up.
>>743693051Why does a 30 year old game need a Nintendo direct?

>>743701195I want a cinematic Ocarina of Time.
>>743700761Ok.
>>743700864You are a snoy.
>>743701414I'm happy to hear "Ocarina of Time" treated as a new premium release. But OoT is the bedrock of video-games to me. You can't get higher in this medium than "Ocarina of Time", so I'm extremely worried that it will just be "good" and not something that's remarkable.I also think the times we're in are a really bad time for a game this seminal. People are super distracted, there's wars happening, and it's quintessentially the OPPOSITE of the kind of world OoT originally released in, and there's a lot of sentiment in its mood and themes, and the writers of 90s Nintendo, which in 98 reflected the whole "End-of-History" feeling that we felt.To elaborate a bit on that, I view Ganondorf and his corruption of Hyrule in OoT, moreso than Ganon+Dark World in ALttP, as a metaphor for "War-time". And the game is essentially about being this child who holds on to fond family-like memories and world full of happiness, who has to prematurely carry the burden of an adult, and grow up before he's ready, viewing the world with a darkening lens. That's what becoming an adult in OoT really feels like to me. You walk out in a place you knew, and it feels almost horror-like at first. That's not just the canon of "Ganondorf ruined it" but it's the experience of what it's actually like to become an adult and realize the world is a lot darker than you thought it was.Wind Waker also opens with some interesting dialogue from some of the old people in that game. Something like "The Green Tunic and Shield was reserved for warriors in the old land, for times of war. But today, we live a life of peace."Zelda games often had that theme, of coming from just a peaceful childhood, reflecting the kid playing Nintendo games, and then kinda telling you, from adult (Nintendo) to child (You), that we're lucky to have so much peace. And that's why remaking OoT in 2026... it feels a little backwards to me.
>>743702062I want to see what Nintendo's made of.
>>743702062It will be good, trust me bro.
>>743693051Unless they're retarded enough to think they can compete with GTA, this is likely releasing within the next 3 and a half months. How do we not even have a release date yet?
>>743704067I am going to hope that they will announce Triple-AAA 3D Mario in a September 2026 Direct, and then people will be more invested in OoT, as it and other games such as Wario and Metroid Ravenous will be appetizers for 3D Mario.Switch 2 3D Mario 2027 will be Nintendo's equivalent to Endgame.
>>743704067It absolutely could compete with GTA VI in the sense that the two games would detract much from each other's sales. People buying OoT at launch would not be deterred by GTA and vice versa. So really what I mean is they wouldn't be competing with each other.
>>743705645*would not detract much from each other's salesgod fucking dammit
>>743697883No, retard. You really think Aonuma's team is making this? This is just something a B team, probably not even the 2D Zelda team, made to tide people over so that there isn't another 6 year gap between mainline titles. You are an absolute retard if you think that OoT is delaying the next Zelda game. It looks like UE5 trash made by some Europoors that Nintendo picked up like Mercury Stream's first Metroid game.>>743702062>You can't get higher in this medium than "Ocarina of Time"Majora's Mask is better. And so is ToTK.
>>743704067GTA 6 isn't even on the Switch, how would they be competing? All the retarded devs trying to avoid GTA6 have ended up competing with each other instead. You really think the people who are interested in Ace Combat and Onimusha are really going to pick GTA 6 over either one? The devs have all shot themselves in the foot for believing in Western marketing.
>>743705829>It looks like UE5 trashYou are a snoy.>Majora's Mask is better. And so is ToTK.>ToTK is better than OoT 2026I see that the snoy schizo has flipped his fake opinion on ToTK.
>the pedoschizo is now also going to be a regular in zelda threadsfuck sake.
>>743706575I am not that.
>>743701353Do you actually think this is going to be a remake like FF7? I really doubt that, it's probably just shiny graphics and voice acting.
>>743706575I am banking on Fire Emblem being too cerebral for him to go and shit those threads up too. Not that there are currently any for him to shit up in the first place.
>>743707236I'm finally going to get myself into The Legend of Zelda after ignoring it for over a decade.
>>743705906>You really think the people who are interested in Ace Combat and Onimusha are really going to pick GTA 6 over either oneNTAThe people who give a single fuck about either of these are minuscule.
>>743707721Nobody thinks any game coming out in September could come anywhere close to matching GTA in sales. What we're talking about is games having sales stolen from them by GTA. For some games that is more of a concern but not for something as specific as Ace Combat.
I love Kass!When's Indigo?
Hmm... this month... August...I think I might get a PS5 controller, and an adapter.I might need it later this holiday.;)
>>743707236Have you never actually seen the Fire Emblem threads? Being "cerebral" doesn't exactly apply to them.
>>743708427I don't know...Fire Emblem seems pretty complex to me.In terms of lore.I must start from the beginning. But I will decide whether or not I cross that bridge when I get to it.Hey, Fortune's Weave has a 12-month reveal-to-release window.3D Mario could get revealed in the next Direct in September 2026 and release sooner than that.

I dunno. I feel like this will end up being underwhelming. It will probably be something like the Dead Space remake where it is very similar to the original to such an extent that there's no real point even playing it.
>>743714019It will not be underwhelming.
>>743695990Thanks anon.I don't like SoH and the recomp is in hiatus.
>>743701195I play the PC decomp, I have no interest or intent to buying the game but I am genuinely interested to see if they'll do anything with it beyond fucking up the artstyle. I've always felt OOT was ripe for more gameplay and balance changes, more enemies, more meaningful secrets, like imagine the shitty holes in the ground were mini dungeons with tougher enemies, more uses for underutilized items like the hammer or elemental arrows, a smoother way to travel through time and more puzzles involving it, ect. Not that I actually expect nintendo to do anything good with it, but there's just enough hope for me to at least watch a direct to see if it's complete shit or not.
>>743718634>DecompI'm retarded, I mean ship of harkinian. I don't know what phrase to use for it I just like playing zelda at 60 fps
>>743693051It's not happening until September. The August 4th "leak" was nothing
>>743693051/v/ in a nutshell>I WANT GAMES>NO, NOT GAMES LIKE THAT
>>743693051It’ll happen in August or the last week of July. This week is Splatoon week.
>>743718716I know.I found that out.
>>743718924I think the September direct will just be Zelda 40th anniversary and OoT will be shown alongside the movie trailer. I think August will be the Fortune's Weave direct and the real marketing ramp up for that game.
>>743718873>I want games>no not bad gameswow how paradoxical and unreasonable
>>743719596>Fortune's Weave directPffff, they've barely even acknowledged it. It's not getting its own direct. It's getting a shadowdropped trailer on Nintendo's channel and that's it.
>>743719596I could see them doing a 15-minute Zelda segment at the beginning with OoT being the final announcement of the segment.3D Mario would be the final announcement of the Direct.
>>743719697No, you don't want Nintendo to go cinematic because they do it better than PlayStation. You snoy.
>>743719715They're charging $80 for it because they want to try again to trick people into thinking it's a big deal franchise. It's absolutely getting a Direct.
>>743719715We still don't know anything about how some mechanics will work or even how the avatar character will play a part. Feels like there's way too much to cover in just another quick trailer.
>direct starts>Miyamoto is standing there holding the mastersword with a big grin>after a couple seconds of silence the mastersword makes a familiar "ding!" and starts glowing>"haha! just kidding! anyhoo. are you guys excited for the finale to the Hero of the wilds trilogy?"
So maybe we get a Fire Emblem Direct in August, then, during the Zelda segment in the September Direct, after the OoT trailer, they announce an OoT Direct for a date one month ahead of its release.
>>743719947Those are the types of things they can cover in a 5 minute overview trailer. People don't need a 20 minute direct telling them how to play a turn based grid game.
>>743720103Doesn't need to be 20 minutes. It could be a bit shorter than the Bananza or Splatoon Raiders direct at like 15 minutes or so, plus maybe a brief Treehouse demo.
I am excited for the voice acting.
Been playing the "real" MQ version, it actually feels like a proper NG+
I can't wait for the Deku Tree cutscenes.
>>743720362Pretty wonky dungeon design design at times but worth playing at least once. I never bothered revisiting it though (except the 3DS version which also acted as a hard mode).
>>743719947They don't have to go over any of the mechanics at all and if they want to explain something, they'll just do it on the official twitter account which is where the rest of this game's marketing has been. It's pretty clear that they're just banking on Three Houses fans being dedicated enough to buy FW, they're not trying to hit a new audience with this game. It wouldn't be $80 otherwise, because no way in hell is someone not into FE going to give the game a try at that price
>>743706889>FF7NTA, but I don't think they'll go that far, and if they did they wouldn't trust an external studio with it. On the other hand, I also don't think it will be exactly the same game. Probably somewhere along the lines of Samus Returns or the Resident Evil remakes.
>>743720696the cows inside Jabu-Jabu are cuz he ate them duhhhit is pretty wacky tho
>>743720945There's a bit of over reliance on SoT blocks that give some rooms a definite ROMhack vibe, that generally bothered me more than anything
>>743721036Yeah that was my first thought too, especially given it was a random github link with no mention of the actual changes from the original MQ it's been years since I gave it a goHonestly might have to try the 3DS one again
>>743693051Reminder, if it’s a 1:1 remake it’ll actually tarnish OoT’s reputation.
>>743722234No it won't.I understand the importance of the original, and I respect the original for being the original.However...I want an OoT made for ME.
>>743722950Then just go play it. It’s been out for 28 years. You can do it however you want now. If they just do a 1:1 with a graphics update, it’ll be panned for being a simple 90s game. Sure it did a lot back then, but by today’s standards it won’t be received well.

>743728210>no trip codeMost curious!
>>743720837>NTA, but I don't think they'll go that farGoing 'that far' would be utterly pointless for a game like OoT.OG FFVII is an extremely primitive game where you walk chibi models across mostly 2D planes on largely static backgrounds which couldn't be directly remastered without the original source assets, while the battle system is likewise primitive and low potential; almost nothing about it could be meaningfully preserved through any significant changes at all so of course the natural thing to do would be to just rebuild the entire thing from scratch. It's a big budget multimedia project, but where each part of is treated as something that can be thrown away and interchanged with something else.OoT is pretty much the opposite, it's basically the most advanced and tightly designed game that existed in its generation, while being highly well preserved to boot, everything needed to rebuild it is well documented and there's no reason to unnecessarily redo any part of it from the ground up unless that's specifically what you wanted to do.
>>743722950>I want an OoT made for ME.Then literally learn 2 code and model lol.

>>743695990Why does this look and sound so fucking shit AND doesn't even show off the entire premise mechanic: The "Single screen"
>>743730723I think you will be really disappointed.I'm happy it won't be that, though. ALBW misses the entire point of the formula that ALttP established. The whole sense of progression and mystery of the ALttP/OoT formula is that you have a limited arsenal which expands as you play, and you'll walk across the same 5 locations for most of the game still going "Nope, even with this new item I have no idea how to access that." and then you finally get an item in some dungeon later that makes you go "Oo, now I can go up there."There's nothing wrong with linearity through gating. What's beautiful about Zelda games is that they technically let you free-roam the entire game, but instead of relying on scripted plot-gated barriers to the main quest, they rely on mechanics which prevent the player from going any further, until the player has the mechanics that lets them go further. That's also part of what makes the games feel larger than they are. ALBW messed this up by having a rental store that kills any surprise in what something out there might be. They even had pedestals in front of dungeons to spoonfeed you "PLEASE RENT THE BOMB FOR THIS PLACE" which is a direct result of taking away the gating. Because if the developers no longer secretly control when the player has access to the upcoming dungeons, they have to insert Normie hints because the developers don't actually know which items you have.ALBW is a fucking gimmick. The 60fps and moveset is delicious, and dungeon level design was nice. In that sense, I'll look forward to an OoT remake that just "feels" better than the original. But not if they're inserting gimmicks or myopic misreadings of what made the original the game it was.
It's funny how OoTsnoys seethed at Nintendo for "abandoning the OoT formula" but now they've completely switched gears to seething at OoT now that Nintendo is doing a direct remake. Switch Derangement Syndrome is a strange case.
>>743738567What people actuallyw want is obviously a new game with the classic formula. What they don't realize is that a remake is likely a test of sorts for how well does it sell or become received in post-BotW world.

>>743741796Only chance it has to btfo their sales is if it makes the botw open world formula even better, massively improves botw's combat, and is the same kind scope. But I really doubt it's that kind of remake.
>>743742051>>743742231>switch botw open world slop Glad mainline Zelda is finally moving away from this.
>>743693890>why dont you guys just play the PC port with hd texture packs?Because it looks like shit. That answer your question?
>>743742051>>switch release boost>The switch was popular because of BOTW.No, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe had way more sales.
>>743742725The next 3D Zelda might still be open-world, but now it won't be cel-shaded, and the open world will be bigger and more detailed.Think Crimson Desert, but Zelda.
>>743742894And this is going to look even worse
>>743742725
>>743742051>>743742943I don't think that the Switch 1 could have sold those 155.92 million units without Super Mario Odyssey.
>>743742943>NoYes. People buy consoles for their games and botw was one of the launch titles people wanted. Which is why people bought the console to play it.
>>743743150You know what you implied at first. Botw wasn't the only reason the switch was popular.
>>743693051Didn't NateTheHate debunk this? Apparently this info came from Google accidentally putting into the release date info for Beast of Reincarnation into an Ocarina remake search.
>>743733530>They are afraid to show the gameplay because it wont be Ocarina of Time it will be Breath of the WildBreath of the Wild is more popular than OOT, so they wouldn't be afraid to show something that most fans would want to play.
>>743743069Will the vehicles return?
>>743743458I found that out later.
>>743733530>>743743459They're not afraid. They will show the gameplay when it's time for them to show the gameplay.Besides, we do have a sneak peek at the graphics. They fooled me into thinking that it was a CGI animation of Link.
>>743742994The remake already looks better than every prior version.
>>743742978Wtf that would be a horrendous downgrade if true.
>>743743642That's a cutscene. 2021 smartphone specs can't do much.
>>743743647No it wouldn't.Crimson Desert is massive, and is the most hyper-realistic game ever right now.Nintendo has made 4 Zelda games with the cel-shaded art style, but now, it is time to get real.
>>743743721An in-engine cutscene. It's impressive. It makes me daydream about what 3D Mario will look like.
>>743726027>This is perfect.Already botched the tunic's design.
>>743743986...Do you think I care?
>>743743721>That's a cutscene...in-engine.
>>743693051I'd put money on them doing something around or during SDCC; an all-Zelda direct that showcases gameplay from the OoT remake, and maybe ends with the first teaser for the movie. Given that they're revealing new toys at SDCC, it seems a bit weird for Nintendo not to set the stage with a bigger announcement first. Unless none of the toys being released have anything to do with OoT remake or the movie, which would be unexpected.
>>743700198Nintendo is following the remake trend behind everyone else.
>>743744057You do since you replied :^)
Open world OoT without the hang glider, climb everything gimmick andNuts n Bolts machines could be interesting. BOTW and especially TOTK are shit because you can just subvert all level design with its janky bullshit mechanics. Open world isn't automatically bad, but those games teach you from hour 1 to just braindead cheese everything which is why are so awful. Then again, Aonuma is a fucking retard so I really have zero hope.
>>743708341>When's Indigo?Coming out next decade probably.
>>743744083They are probably going to do a mainline Direct in September, and reveal gameplay, a release date, and a 15-minute OoT Direct, during the 15-minute Zelda 40th Anniversary segment.
>>743744162I don't care that Link's tunic isn't 1:1.This is MY Zelda.
>>743733530>They are afraid to show the gameplay because it wont be Ocarina of Time it will be Breath of the WildIt will be OOT, just like Star Fox did not change the SF64 gameplay.
>>743744332I think it will be OoT, but larger, and with cinematic cutscenes.
>>743744401It will not be larger. It will be more cinematic.
>>743744587Ok.I love cinematic cutscenes in Nintendo games.
btw Pauline schizo has even played Bananza. His entire persona is based on a character from a game he hasn't played.
>>743744996>has even played Bananza.Yes, I have played many Nintendo games, I have even played Bananza. That is correct.
>>743743957>It makes me daydream about what 3D Mario will look likeI remember saying this in 1994
>>743702062Sorry, none of what you wrote here made a single lick of sense. The 90s was definitely MORE peaceful in its society, sure, but it wasn't due to war or lack thereof. America was in the gulf war, and we had just barely come out of the cold war a decade ago. Also Ganondorf isn't a metaphor for war, he was actually waging a war. And that's not me nitpicking, nothing about Ganondorf was an idea or representation or commentary about war time. He was just a dude that senselessly wanted power because it was there for the taking. What you said about Link isn't really an artistic theme, it's just what happened to him as a result of time travel, and what you're describing with him and with Wind Waker's Link is just the description of the Hero's Journey, a call to action often marking a young boy for adventure. You could say the same thing about the kids in Chronicles of Narnia or the Neverending Story, or any fantasy story from the 70s-now.I'm not trying to troll or be a dick, I actually sat here for a good 15 minutes trying to figure out what the fuck you're actually talking about and I couldn't make sense of it.
>>743745613Good for you.Are you ready for the next 3D Mario?
>>743744209Agreed. Really miss the braindead puzzles with only one way to solve it. I just love having my time wasted.
>>743745670>Also Ganondorf isn't a metaphor for war, he was actually waging a war.>He was just a dude that senselessly wanted power because it was there for the taking.Ganonald Trumpf.
>>743745841Maybe they'll be easier this time?
>>743745841I think they will have to remove stuff like this, or face 7/10 scoresThe world has moved on
>>743738567Sauce on pic? None of the searches showed anything up.
>>743741968I wish they would!
>>743742051>The switch was popular because of BOTW.>best selling console>best selling ZeldaTell me why Oot has the 99 on metacritic and not Botw?
>>743702062What the actual fuck is wrong with OoToddlers.
>>743748156I read everything, and absolutely nothing. Perhaps it's time to reattend grade school and unfail it.
>>743748335No seriously, what causes this type of mental illness.
OoT 2026 will be like the canceled 2007 Zelda movie.
>>743744718Me too! Nintendo has always needed more immersion in their games.
It will be Wokerina Of Time.
>>743693051What's there to have a Direct about? Just upload a Youtube video showing 5 minutes of identical side by side footage of the original game next to the remake
>>743740825Jaded boomers have house buying amounts of money.
>>743744264>I don't care that Link's tunic isn't 1:1.I don't care that it isn't the same either. I do care that it looks like crap and hope I don't have to watch Link wearing that straw sack thing for half the game.
>>743693890I've already played base Ocarina of Time, Master Quest, and 3D multiple times. A straight port of base doesn't interest me. I want something new.
>>743702062>That's not just the canon of "Ganondorf ruined it" but it's the experience of what it's actually like to become an adult and realize the world is a lot darker than you thought it was.Ocarina of Time is basically this metaphor.I can understand where you are coming from, since even youngsters see the world going to shit before even getting to adulthood. That being said, I hope they go VERY dark on the new game. If this is anything below T, it won't have the same creepiness of the original. Also, I am pretty sure this game will disappoint a lot of people, either because it's not exactly the original ( it won't) or because it's too different from it.
>>743748040>Tell me why Oot has the 99 on metacritic and not Botw?Because oot is overrated.
>>743750697Not in this housing market you don't.
OoT snoys have such severe Nintendo Derangement Syndrome, it's insane.
>sony out of nowhere
>>743752345This entire thread is literally snoys and OoTsnoys having seething meltdowns at Nintendo and the OoT remake.
so it's just one retard replying to himself and sometimes turning off his tripcode, right
