Why haven't you learned japanese yet?
My parents never pressured me to learn Japanese despite my grandparents constantly shaming to, even as they were dying, so I'm content being EOL.

I feel so much nostalgia but unfortunately those memories are fading and as much as I want to go back, I am no longer 6 and not in 2007. I also have an unhealthy obsession with the past and it pains me to realize that the time when I started getting really nostalgic for Japan, 2016, is now closer to my time in Japan than it is to nowI wanna go back though

I'm going through N3 on language courses, I've gone through all 常用漢字 on Anki (still fumble about 10% daily, though, but that's expected), and I've picked up manga to help with vocabulary. First is 白熊カフェー, next is revisiting Youtsuba&, which should also help. It's fun. I quit because I just couldn't justify the time spent consuming endless amounts of media anymore, half the stuff I was reading and watching was simply for the sake of learning. It's really cozy to disappear into another world learning a language and I'm always tempted to go back but it absolutely consumes all of your free time and other hobbies.

I like listening to Japanese people speak. The mannerisms and politeness is so refreshing and warm since so much of English has been turned into ebonics and slang. Every time I hear a Japanese repeatedly say そうそうそう and bow at every opportunity, it just makes me smile.This is why I continue to learn Japanese.
