Nepotism amongst family is fine if the offspring genuinely want to take over the business someday and work hard to achieve it. Nepotism amongst third worlders (technically more "cronyism") based entirely on similar skin tones or religious beliefs is the cancerous kind, because chances are they just want a free ride and will go mooch off someone else's fortune once they ruin your company.

Some parts of the Holoviewer in the Star Fox remake come across as a somewhat "unreliable narrator," but if you take everything at face value they're pretty explicit about Andross telling Star Wolf they HAVE to have his nephew on the team and they HAVE to keep him safe. Wolf even reminds everyone to cover Andrew because that's "where the money comes from."

My grandpa owned a construction company that my uncle wanted to take over from him when he retired, and according to my dad (who became a doctor, runs his own practice now) he apparently expanded it massively and could earn 8 figures if he decided to sell it.

Well seeing as he took over in 95ish and that construction necessitates constructing new things, I doubt it, especially seeing as he took it from a crew of one smallish team to like 10, no.
Why is it so difficult for people these days for people to accept that some people are just more competent than them? You see it all the time with midwits malding about Musk for example, when the guy's a trillionaire. You can only cope with the "his dad was also rich" before you have to admit that he has business acumen.

Nta and that’s fine i believe you and im proud of your uncle and lineage but this that’s not even what nepotism is. Im not saying your uncle didn’t have ‘some’ advantage but its not unfair or conniving to be properly mentored by a parent, even if that’s not accessible to all. Nepotism is mostly associated with giving family jobs they're not fit for and i imagine your uncle would heavily disagree with the word ‘nepotism’ directed anywhere near him

It's literally the definition of nepotism.

>Nepotism is mostly associated with giving family jobs they're not fit for
I agree that it's what it should mean, but in reality it's basically getting into a business or whatever thanks to help from family, partial or in full. That means my uncle is the same as Jayden Smith getting film roles.

>i imagine your uncle would heavily disagree with the word ‘nepotism’ directed anywhere near him

>>
>>743725925
I agree. Some of the comics from what I read made Andross out to be a bit more of a sympathetic villain, tragic backstory-esque stuff. The games just show depict him as an insane fool.
>>743726494
A lot of the new dialogue and holders stuff helps flesh out the characters, even if their lines don't convey quite as much raw emotion (typically). I don't know that I could really say which version is truly definitive, but '26 is currently my favorite rendition of the game (shiny new toy).
>>

You literally by definition cant work harder if you are someone on the inside. No matter how hard you work unless you were a bastard child left on the streets you cant get the experience of building something from the ground up yourself. There hasnt been a single nepobaby in any industry that has ever been able to keep the legacy of their fathers company going strong.
Hell I think the ONLY place where nepotism works is in the acting industry, and thats only really cause even if you are the daughter of Tom Hanks you still end up just following marching orders from the Director and not running a whole brick and mortar business
>>
>>743724649
You literally asserted that my uncle just got lucky retard. The "demon" is right in front of me.
>>
>>743726978
It doesn't have to be "unfair", I'm saying that the definition is dumb because both those that can do the work and can't do the work are both beneficiaries of nepotism, I'm not arguing that it's a good definition.

>>743722317

I put a lot more respect on /v/aggots that actually play a game and give it a proper shitroast. Goes the other way too, can't just sing a new titles praises.

'26 Multiplayer kind of misses the mark for me. Fun but extremely barebones. I was also surprised by no new surprise missions of any types - nothing like the missions in the Rogue Squadron series, where you play villain for a post-game missions or two. Voice acting is serviceable but a valid complaint. Etcetera. Gotta go try out Expert Campaign

Algo recently gave me videos about Dinosaur Planet. From what I gather Imamura pestered Miyamoto to let him make another Starfox game, Miyamoto saw the early footage of DP and convinced everyone to make SFA based on DP instead of making proper Starfox game.

I liked the detail that Cornerian Intel recommended AGAINST hiring Star Fox, that coupled with how Pepper was kinda blase about payment early on and most of the "failures" not really being dwelled on if you play badly gives the vibes they didn't really expect Star Fox to be able to do shit.

There are a lot of pointless changes, and I feel like it's because they want you to take it more seriously. Changing Fox's "Sorry to jet, but I'm in a hurry!" to "Sorry to jet, but we've got places to be" is one of those changes that kinda makes him a bit duller as a protagonist dialogue wise.

>>743735817
To be fair, if you fuck up every planet (Allowing the Katina base to be destroyed, Slippy getting captured, etc.) and get to Venom 1, it may as well be a bad ending. You basically didn't actually do shit, but Pepper still gets the bill.
Also, it's interesting to see characters like Bill getting much more recognition thanks to this game. Only Katt was ever really discussed prior, and that's just because of the sex appeal aspect, on top of being one of the very few female characters the series is known for.

I miss the lines of Pigma really rubbing it in that he's the reason James is dead. It's probably one of the reasons why Fox tried putting distance between him and his father in his heart, because he knows that's a weakness that can be exploited. I'm sure Pigma knows it would burn someone like Fox up and distract him if he keeps throwing it in his face.

>The plot
There was a plot? Its just a sequence of tik tok clips and fox mc sexo stealing the show.

Because rich people are rewarded for their failures and criminal activity lol, Trump, Epstein, and Elon are bad business men who maintain their wealth scamming and stealing from others constantly. It is just that wealth makes it easy for people to get away with crime. They're not clever, they are stupid and lacking a moral compass just like you.

Wall of cope lmao
If it were that easy then millions of jeet scammers would be billionaires.

It all comes down to luck and connections. Born a brahmin? That's how you win at being a jeet.

It is more like nepotism should not disqualify someone entirely. Some of the best actors and musicians have parents who were involved in the industry. Their work is still good.

As a CONSUMER why should I care if the actor/director/singer has a dad that got them the gig if it was quality? As an actor I might care because I feel like I am not given a chance to compete, but I'm not an actor.

Nepotism prevents me from being a NEET, I hate it.

Everything about real life is fake. Economy is fake, meritocracy is myth, justice is sold to the highest bidder. npc golem just want to sell out and steal as much as possible for their "people" and everyone else can go to hell.

Over time that's the only way you could get in.
That's what always ends up happening.

>The way it refreshes whenever you toggle away, fucking sucks.

Or when you open it up for the first time and it flashes you art for a split second before refreshing to different art. I’ve made it a habit to repeatedly tap or screenshot so I don’t miss the thing it shows before refreshing to something new.

I thought Bill didn't come help if you failed Katina.
>>
>>743752607
IIRC he doesn't in the original, but 2026 makes him show up regardless with different lines depending of if you failed Katina or just opted into that route after a success.
