Generally berry bushes grow in groups so you can get a nice pile whenever you see some. Use that to start a cabbage and tomato farm which you can "cook" into salads which give better sanity for something that is literally just two mass produced goods. After that you are set for a lifetime for ranch/farming and even for the most part main base food. For heavier jobs like mining/logging/oil you will for sure need something better but that will come after boss tower three if you progress as the game want you to. Honestly if you go huge into berries they will forever keep the player/ranch/farming bases fed forever. They just don't fill pals up enough so pals like to eat more every few seconds. If you use the no transport movement glitch it is basically a nonissue. You do you though.

Unless you are on a potato crank the max bases up to the maximum value. With default bases your base progress is so fucking slow it's miserable. Atleast when you max out the slider you can start getting more specific bases (mining, wood, ranching, breeding, whatever). And make your base and tech progress not slow as fuck.

All that running back and forth means they arent doing their work, which will make your base seriously lag behind.To get past this, you need to take into account the Nutrition value (the amount of a pals stomach that gets filled) and it's SAN value (eating a good meal can make a cranky pal very happy and work a lot longer). The typical setup begins at berries (which you are starting to feel isn't working) which then leads to Salad which will fill medium pals bellies a lot better than berries, only requires 2 lettuce and 2 tomato, and cooks VERY quickly. It doesn't have much in the SAN department though, so you will still rely on comfy beds and hot springs for sanity restoration. The next logical step after Salad, once your base is becoming large enough, is Pizza. It gives a relatively large boost to both Nutrition and SAN compared to Salad, and will fill even the largest pal stomachs enough to get them to work for a decently long time, will reduce hunger drain, AND boost work speed. The problem is that it requires a lot of resources, and a lot of input from you: You're gonna need 2 berries, 2 milk, 2 tomato, and 1 Flour (3 milled wheat per). It seems pretty cheap, but you're going to need to be actively working to produce these for your pals by milling wheat into flour, and then cooking the shit yourself unless you have a good kindling pal.Pizza will be your staple once you've reliably been able to make it

Faleris Aqua is a common enemy later on, though I still haven't encountered the base fire one. Orserk is a common enemy in the endgame. Maybe an alpha somewhere that I didn't find.
