Unfortunately the hypothetical price, if those trials succeed, would be close to 500,000 for 1 treatment, that only covers the eye.

I guess Im weird in that I dont think about my age at all and routinely forget how old I am? Like Ive always been that way though. It didnt occur to me that I was squarely an "adult" until I was in my late 20s. Because I never saw myself as a "kid" or an "adult". Im just me.I dont know man, I swear that half the bitching about "Im old" is just people obsessing over their age and self limiting. Im 35 and outside of my hairline slightly receding and me eating not quite as shittily as before to avoid being fat, I feel the same as I did at 15. Like my personality is the same, just that Im a bit more jaded and a bit more weighed down by responsibilities like having a mortgage and such. But I really havent changed much compared to 20 years ago. Hell, even my reaction speed has barely degraded if online tests hold true.Honestly? It feels like people just LARP about being "adult" out of obligation and to be good role models for children. When the reality is, adults are just children that are better at lying. Thats how I feel, anyway.
I honestly only get nostalgic about very specific and personal experiences.I don’t miss a whole generation or talk about the good ol days. I think about stuff that actually happened to me.Example:My first 3DS was back in 2011.What am I nostalgic about? The fact that I got it back at my grandmother’s old house at Christmas. It was fun to just play the OOT remaster. Here’s the thing though:I don’t pine for that time. I simply acknowledge it as something I thought was nice and move on to my life.

>>743741096Toys R Us was a modestly profitable and largely sustainable business that employed a knowledgable workforce and that provided measurable value to American communities. Private equity acquired it via a leveraged buyout as part of a larger conspiracy to dismantle America's brick-and-mortar retail eosystem and funnel consumers to Amazon and Wal-Mart, see Jeff Bezos' early career, wherein the buyer put up a small amount of capital and then were granted multiple times that capital in debt, which summer together represented the funding necessary to purchase the company. Think of it like a mortgage. However, unlike a mortgage, the buyers were not responsible for the debt; it was put on the balance sheet of Toys R Us itself - equivalent to tying the mortgage to the house itself, so that anyone who bought it would be responsible for servicing and paying down the debt, not the owners (who could walk away at any time without so much as a credit rating hit). Because Toys R Us suddenly had millions (can't remember if it was tens of millions or hundreds of millions) in debt payments it was required to make every single year, all of the funds needed to continue running or even revamp its business model as the market shifted over time vanished into some banker's pockets, and it was forced to declare bankruptcy. I'll reiterate that this was planned and in fact the goal of the buyout from the start.

Metal Gear Solid 5 is 11 years old. When I heard it was a decade old it freaked me the fuck out. I would have thought 5 years max.
>>743739469YeahI think many people are missing the point Doom. As in the new one came out 10 years ago. Doom 2016
>>743741714>the buyers were not responsible for the debt; it was put on the balance sheet of Toys R Us itself - equivalent to tying the mortgage to the house itself

Black Ops 2 when alphies started talking about how nostalgic they felt for fucking TranZit which is probably the worst fucking thing to happen to Black Ops Zombies

>>743742534Because the PE firm is just a holding company but also controls how the purchased business operates. So it says, "Hey, Toys R Us, this debt is yours now," and TRU is obligated to assume responsibility for the debt. But the buyout was structured in such a way that the PE firm can sell or spin off TRU as it sees fit.TRU was forced to assume IIRC $5 billion in debt with no benefit to it.

>>743742836>also controls how the purchased business operatesBut it still not responsible for debt, that was created out of nothing directly by them? What kind of bullshit is this?
>>743742534>>743742836Oh sorry, I should be clear that the overarching point is that this is what our oligarchs have done to the entire economy. That's why inflation is so crazy and why we can't seem to afford anything dor the public good. The mechanism is slightly more complex and involves passive investment/pension funds and corporate capture of national fiscal and monetary policy, but the gist of it is that our rich motherfuckers just created a bunch of debt out of thin air, mostly to pay for things they want like stadiums and data centers and inefficient suburban planning, and told us to pay it back.

>>743739332Unrelated but I think what bothers me the most in regards to age is not how old I am physically but how young I am mentally. I’m a 28 year old child. I live with my parents, I’ve never once dated a girl, I know jack shit about owning and maintaining a home, I have very few practical skills outside of the ones I’ve developed at work. I do have a full time job and mostly function like a normal person when I’m clocked in, but the moment I go home I just shut myself away in my room and play videogames until I fall asleep. It’s like I’m still a fucking 12 year old playing Metroid Prime all fucking day and only leaving my room to go to school or eat dinner. I’m an eternal manchild and I worry it’s too late to “grow up”. Even if I try to develop as a person, I’ll always just be a somewhat retarded adult. I’ve mostly given up and have accepted that I’ll die alone after decades of doing nothing but working and playing videogames, but it still bothers me thinking about what my mom might be thinking. I know for a fact she’s incredibly disappointed and is slowly realizing her son is one of those retarded manchildren who live with their parents their whole lives. I just hope my two brothers can make up how much of a failure of a person I am. If it has to be me that has to give my parents a grandchild to be proud of, then good fucking Lord help me
I don't get this at all. Game generations always have a look to them, something released now doesn't feel like something released 20 years ago.Galaxy is a Wii game, even subconsciously why would you think it came out 3 years ago? PS4/PS5 games I can sort of understand because they barely feel like a separate generation at this point. Indie games maybe too as they aren't tied to a generation or artstyle.
>>743743230I can type it with bigger letters if that helps.

>>743740053this basically. COD MW2 and GTA4 came out and those two were basically the last videogames ever made. Every game ever since has just been a remaster of either of those two, and even those two are kinda similar in that most of the time you’re either following NPCs or shooting other NPCs
>>743743374>I’m an eternal manchild and I worry it’s too late to “grow up”.The biggest "grow up" moment for me was when it clicked that most people cant and wont do shit even for themselves unless you do it yourself or start kicking their butts and forcing them to do shit.
>>743740367Death Stranding sorta tries to do that despite being a singleplayer game. You have the blank slate world and then various structures automatically pop up with random usernames attached to them. You’ll cross a bridge fifty times and eventually memorize the username it belongs to and develop some sort of weird parasocial attachment to the player. It’s something similar to what Journey and Nier Automata do
>>743726884>You're not cute.>You're not funny.Yes I am.
I feel like overdosing and technically kind of dying in the ER when I was 16 made me skip the existential dread other millennials have about aging. I’m just glad I’m still here to enjoy the limited time I have left.

>>743745352I bought Skyrim in 2014. I had no idea of the elder scrolls back then. I only saw that it had something to do with fantasy and I wanted to play a fantasy game. I thought at first elder had something to do with elves (I'm not a native english speaker). I haven't even seen any gameplay or any trailer for it. The only thing I knew was the game packaging.
>>743743809An object can have such an overwhelming and predictable influence on people that it's appropriate to anthropomorphize them and call them evil, especially when it's ubiquitous and therefore almost impossible not to be in the presence of.
