It was mind boggling how this got a budget at all. It's a literal who indie game basically by industry standards. Yet, you got industry juggernaut anime like OPM sequels having shoestring budgets. The anime industry makes no sense. It feels like everyone just does whatever the fuck a senior suit demands without any rhyme or reason based solely on seniority.
>>
>>743737887
All that budget and effort that went into the presentation and it was unironically less pleasing to watch than going through the game, despite the repetitive gameplay loops and lack of voice acting. It's unironically impressive. Anime watchers are given ZERO reason to care or be involved. You can only appreciate what the Gnosia anime did if you played the game prior (and that's a good thing)

>>
>>743748610
It kinda gets easier as you go so just enjoy the ride, the EXP and stat system means you are always progressing and eventually you can just do "Say you are human" Sonar as Non-Gnosia and coast on stats to not stand out as Gnosia most of the time.

>>
>>743750197
It has its ups and downs. Some story bits get truncated a lot, though it does also add some new fun scenes and it adapts the overall story well. I however didn't really like how they handled the last few anime OG episodes, and some things that don't get explained in the game, do get explained in the anime but in an asspully kind of way. Some of the game mechanics like the lie detection stat also feel very "gamey" when translated into anime format, while some other game mechanics work differently in the anime.

I'd suggest playing the game if the main gameplay seems interesting to you at all, and then watching the anime adaptation later.

It rushed through the romance, but weirdly adds filler and prolongs the ending with new content. Other than that, it's nice that some niche indie visual novel got any kind of merch and media attention at all. It was pretty much one of the most unique Anime of summer 2024.
>>
had no idea it was a game until my sister walked out of the shower and said "wow they made a Gnosia anime"
>>
>>743753196
it slips up on a couple things in the beginning but once you get past that it's great fanservice with shockingly high production values for how niche it is

>>
>>743739056
>Yet, you got industry juggernaut anime like OPM sequels having shoestring budgets
Anon only westerners gave a crap about OPM in japan it's a webcomic that got lucky it got picked up by industry veterans as a passion project and that was why S1 was so well animated otherwise nobody there was in a rush for S2 and it doesn't help the mangaka fucked over his own work to boot.
>>

Yuriko lost hard in the Anime since she never really gets the same "FUCK YOU!" pressure she had in the game and is kind of a Jobber

I didn't really like how they handle Gina is Lying either, i mean it worked and was acceptable, but the abruptness of the game version hit me harder.

Raqio i feel they actually executed perfectly. Kind of a joke early on that shows his chops later on when more moving parts enter the discussion.

Yuriko was too kind in the anime. They pussied out by ignoring her monster form and her saying slurs.

>>
>>743739179
nerfed hard in the anime
>>
>>743758742
>>Repeat the timeloop because there was no event
This is probably the biggest annoyance in Gnosia. I'm pretty sure randomizing the setup does always give you a game where you can get a new event, but the problem is that you'll have no idea what the actual trigger is, so a relevant NPC can die or get sent to cold sleep during the first round, resulting in a normal game with no meta progression. It's not that bad early on since there's so many events to get through, but by mid-endgame you're just shooting in the dark hoping you'll stumble upon a story event trigger.

I think the devs should've added a better in-game hint system, for example instead of just showing whether an event requires a specific role, clicking a locked piece of information could give you some vaguely worded hint about which characters are involved or if there are any prerequisites.

I hated that game because
- You only get one small scene if you betray the crew and side with the evil AI
and
- You can't get the little goblin killed off. The game literally goes out of the way to prevent it no matter what choices you pick. Like, fuck you too, faggot.
Since it's all RenPy, wonder if some chad has made a mod to fix this.
>>
>>743762559

>>
What's the point of the Bug role? When you're playing as crew or Gnosia, it's just a "fuck you, you won but actually you lost." Playing as Bug is no fun either because your incentive is to do nothing at all to avoid attention.
I guess the idea is it's supposed to be a third liar role, but it doesn't reward lying it rewards doing nothing.

>>
>>743763307
Bug rewards lying smartly.
Basically everyone is your enemy. Like playing as Gnosia but alone.
Assuming you're playing a full game (engineers, doctors, full crew, etc)...
You have to find and get the engineer voted out asap, because getting scanned kills you.
But you usually get TWO people claiming to be engineers. So you gotta find who is the Gnosia and who is the real one.
If the real engineer gets confirmed as real, then it's game over because you won't ever get them voted out.
If you claim yourself as engineer but then get caught lying, it's also over (crew prioritizes kicking out liars).
On top of this, Gnosia will turn against you if they try to kill you but fail (even thought it could've been the Guardian Angel).
There's depth, if you want to find it... but it does get easier at max stats when the game tells you who's lying most of the time.

>>743767037
NTA but I watched this show with some friends who hadn't played the game and when they froze Yuriko in a really early episode I said "this absolutely would not have been possible in the game", when until then I had no complaints at all.
They make it a whole thing in the game where there's a little arc where Yuriko says "I'm gonna give you answers if you defeat me" or something like that. I forgot what it was, either it's you have to be alive with her at the end or something, but I think it's when she's Gnosia and you have to convince people to freeze her?? In any case, she's a menace when it comes to getting the crowd on her side, and in the show she just sat there. It's my only real criticism of the show, apart from them randomly revealing endgame shit in the middle of the show for some reason.
>>
>>743767037
Gameplay wise she has very high level in all stats, unlike other characters who tend to be more specialized into one or two, so early in the game she's a huge pain in the ass to deal with if you get on her bad side. Meanwhile in the anime adaptation she constantly jobs at the actual game. Also, she has some notable scenes in the game that aren't conveyed well in anime format, namely early on she removes the protagonist's immunity from cold sleep and gnosia attacks, which isn't clear in the anime due to lack of a message informing this happened, and later she makes Raqio realize the protagonist shouldn't exist in one of the loops, which gets relegated to one of the montage shots in the anime.

>>743770874
>apart from them randomly revealing endgame shit in the middle of the show for some reason.
Yeah, that was absolutely fucking retarded. Some anons even hypothesized they'd go for an anime OG ending because the writers possibly couldn't be so stupid as to reveal true ending shit that early on.
>>
>>743772252
On that last thing though, apparently this show had so much stuff going on that people somehow missed this and it surprised them when it was mentioned again near the end.
I was checking the Reddit discussions of one of the last episodes where they talked about these endgame topics again, and the anime-onlies were surprised while the people who played the game were like "teehee, I had to stay quiet whenever they foreshadowed that in the intro". I just came in and was like...didn't they reveal this around ten episodes ago?
I just checked again and yeah, it was Episode 13, starting at 15:20 where they have a long discussion about stuff that should be endgame twists, and at 17 minutes they literally say Kukrushka is Manan.
People forget about this stuff, especially watching weekly, because the story constantly reveals things and throws new things at you to the point where you don't even know what's important and what isn't.
