If you show them an old game they will always say it looks old and bad and want to play the new thing. They are more graphics obsessed than Zoomers and Millennials. Even if you raise the kid to start off with oldies and move them up to newer stuff slowly over time, trying to vicariously live your childhood through them (my friend did this with his 2 boys), the second they get a taste of the dopamine rush from looking at a brand new game they immediately lose interest in all the old stuff. And it will happen as soon as they start school whether you like it or not, because those other kindergartners/first graders are iPad kids who are already doing Fortnite dances and talking about Robux. Even a game they LOVE playing, they will drop it for something that looks modern. So even if Nintendo decided to port all these games via roms to Switch and gave them away for $5 they would not sell to anybody but millennials who grew up playing them and want some nostalgia. My Nephew plays Mario Maker and he's never once made or even played on a level with old graphics, it's always the New SMB Wii U graphics.
