frame sisters... is it over...?
>>743824779gooners are known as smart people with high standards after all
>>743823332what does he say?
>>743824779vr will never be comfortable or ideal for gooning
>>743825069you are malfunctioning, bot
>>743825061the usual>oldshit trash LCD>oldshit 4-year old chip>garbage tracking
I have a wishlist somewhere of gaming related stuff I wanted to get this year. Deck, frame and controller were on that list. I'm not getting any of them.Preordering something 6+ months in advance is retarded for technology because there's a good chance something better will come out in that time, usually without a waitlist. The ayn thor was the only device I was considering going on a waitlist for because the price increased for later batches. It's so successful though I'm sure copycats will release before the end of the year.
>>743823332Post-2025 Standalone is dead, I just don't see them managing to constantly produce new ARMslop under the current conditions at a rate that can keep up with how quickly ARM becomes obsolete and unmaintained. I am waiting for the various pancake lens wired headsets to get more Linux support.
>>743826194>quickly ARM becomes obsolete and unmaintainedwhat?
>>743826194>with how quickly ARM becomes obsolete and unmaintainedjust go back under the rock, there's nothing worth seeing or experiencing outside.
>>743826269>new software needs newest ARM versions>ARM device longterm support for something like a phone is when it keeps getting updates after a few yearsIt just not an ecosystem with the kind of backwards compatibility that x86 has.
>>743826737you are clueless
>>743826737You have literally no idea what you're talking about. Manufacturers dropping support for old smartphone models has nothing to do with ARM.
>>743823332No, because even if the Frame itself is not some technological marvel, I sure as shit would take it over anything from Meta, because all of Meta's stuff spies on your PC like there's no tomorrow.Where's my Frame, god damn it? I need to replay Subnautica in VR.
planning on buying the frame because i am retarded, what's the best car wheel or plane wheel for VR if I'm a poorfag that has never touched a single one of those controllers before?
>>743825061I went and watched the video and the title is bait. He's defending the frame on every point.
>>743827854he is just a pussy and doesn't want valve cultists on his ass, so he has asterisks every point with "but that doesn't matter"but it does matter
>>743827265Steam Frame won't be for poorfagsIunno wait to see what's in Black Friday I guess
>>743828058>Steam Frame won't be for poorfagsthe target audience of frame are retardspoorfags gonna buy questrichfags gonna buy headsets with highres uOLED and modern chips
>>743828058Don't care, still buying the frameI already have a gayming PC>>743828148>poorfags gonna buy questFuck off Zuck
>>743825252is that true? valve index revolutionized it all, i dont see how their new vr would have shit tech
>>743828981>valve index revolutionized it alleh?
>>743829026really good resolution, with very wide fov and high framerate, refined lighthouse tracking technology that can even flawlessly track in the dark, finger tracking with 87 sensors etc. no one does it like valve
>>743829438>really good resolutionlol> with very wide fov and high frameratemaybe. the only somewhat valid point>lighthouselighthouse tech virtually unchanged from the original vive> finger tracking with 87 sensors etclol
>>743829702The resolution wasn’t bad at the time of release. It quickly became outdated. Pimax did have headsets with greater resolution at time of launch, but it was basically impossible for the hardware then to drive. Index was a good spot for 2019. The Frame is also comfortable for now, but it is further behind the pixel count of the high end HMDs compared to what the Index was.
>>743828712Stop calling yourself a poorfag then, you are lying.A poorfag could not have a gayming pc.
>>743830941>It quickly became outdated.it was outdated on release
>>743826194are you retarded?there's translation layers for ARM now, you can run whatever x86 game you want
>le epin click bait slopperino Valve VR set is lower spec than the alternatives but its fucking open source and not tied to fagbook so its going to sell like fucking palworld you drooling retards.
>>743831924>but its fucking open source
>>743831047Not at all. It was a year later. The Quest 2 and Reverb G2 were better and cheaper options in 2020, but with worse tracking and controllers. RTX 30 launched in 2020, too, which made those and the Pimax headsets actually viable to run. At launch the Index was better than the Rift S, Vive, and Vive Pro.
>>743832110>Not at all.Yes at all.
>>743832287Q1 and index released at the same time. It wasn't outdated on release, just subpair and "felt" dated.Frame is Pico 4 res, with lower ppd. P4 released in 2022
>>743832287The original Quest didn’t even have Oculus Link or AirLink support at launch. It was a closed garden waste of money. It was very heavy and had shit tracking. There is a reason it was replaced by the Q2 so quickly. A consequence of it being replaced so quickly also meant support for it was garbage and ended quickly. Displayport driven headsets looked way better despite them not being oled, because the garbage processor in it was a bottleneck for video streaming.
>>743833357>There is a reason it was replaced by the Q2 so quickly.the reason is that they had a much better chip ready
