Am I the only one who doesn't enjoy games directed by people younger than me?When I was a teen, games felt like an enlightening experience - worlds built from the real-life experience of a generation ahead of me, mostly by Jap directors in their 30s-40s. There was a sense they had something to teach me, something to be marveled at, not academically, but in how they built worlds and designed gameplay.Now that I'm 35, most directors are my age or younger, and that sense of learning from someone wiser is gone. You can call me petty, but I just don't feel like there's a generation ahead of me building worlds I can look up to anymore.

When you're a kid and teenager and even early 20s you keep looking for the old supposed wisemen that know and run everything. Ultimately you find out while people all have their own sets of expertises, they're largely retarded in other categories. Everyone is kinda dumb at most things except the few things they're good at.
