Am I the only one who finds Tifa really whiny and annoying in the Remake when compared to the original?When Aerith is kidnapped by Shinra in the original, Tifa is obviously very sad.She says:>Tifa: It's my fault... I was the one who got Aeris involved in this.>Elmyra: Don't say that. Aeris doesn't think that.>Tifa: I feel so depressed.But she makes it clear staying around whining isn't an option>Tifa: I'm coming with you.> Cloud: We're going right into Shinra Headquarters. ...You gotta be prepared for the worst.>Tifa: I know. Right now, I feel I have to push myself to the limit. If I stayed here...I'll go crazy.But in the Remake, if you get her resolution scene, she just keeps whining and crying about muh bar. It's really awkward.Whenever there's a scene in the Remake where she's acting whiny or retarded, I check the original script, and she's nothing like that.For example, when the pillar falls, Barret is crying about Biggs, Wedge, and Jessie. But the second he mentions Marlene, Tifa tells him RIGHT AWAY Marlene is fine:>Barret: Marlene...>Tifa: ......... Barret......?>Tifa: Marlene is... I think Marlene is safe.>Barret: ......huh?>Tifa: Right before they took Aeris, she said, "Don't worry, she's all right." She was probably talking about Marlene.>Barret: R, really!?In the Remake, she just stands there like an idiot watching Barret think his daughter is dead, and Cloud has to tell Barret she's okay. Which makes absolutely no sense because it was Tifa who asked Aerith to lead Marlene to safety in the first place and Cloud had nothing to do with it. (cont.)

Not only does Tifa not tell Barret Marlene is fine, she even blames Barret for it in the Remake. "We did this".In the original, first she tells Barret Marlene is fine, then after he calms down, she questions about their fault in all of this. And she only does it after Barret brings up Shinra did it to get them:>Barret: This is all screwed up! They destroyed an entire village just to get to us! They killed so many people...>Tifa: ...are you saying it's our fault? Because AVALANCHE was here? Innocent people lost their lives because of us?>Barret: No, Tifa! That ain't it! Hell no!! It ain't us! It's the damn Shinra! It's never been nobody but the Shinra! I find NuTifa insufferable. What makes her tolerable is Ayumi Ito's voice. Her voice is so soothing, I can't get mad at her. But I couldn't stand her in the English dub. No shade at Britt, it's the script that's somehow much worse than a 30 year old game.On a side note, please don't turn this into a waifu/coomer/waifu wars/shipping cancer thread. I just want a Sebbywebz type of thread to rant about how they fucked up the Remake.
Another thing that pissed me off beyond belief was her suggestion "maybe Shinra will just let her go".Is she fucking retarded?Once again, I check the original script, and she says nothing of the sort.WTF were the writers thinking?
