In this day and age, how long do you plan on keeping your current PC before upgrading?

I might upgrade my PC every 20 years.
>>
I just replace the parts when it can't run a game I want to play. Might be harder in the next few years thanks to scams like fake A.I. and pointless data centers though.

よろしく is awkward to translate THOUGH

I do have one rule:
"Do i need to upgrade to play the next megaman game?", if no, no upgrade happens.
Been doing this since the early 90's.
>>
CPU and mobo is every 10 years desu
maybe graphics card every 5 years if there are some really poggy games coming out

It can't be helped.

I just updated my PC from 10 year old standard to 5 year old standard. The earliest I'll look at it again is 5 years from now.

Though realistically, I don't think they will ever release any software that I give a shit about that wouldn't work on my current hardware just fine so I'll probably keep it indefinitely.

someone link the original twitter post so i can copy paste a reply from there

I have no choice but to carry on until the wheels fall off because of RAM prices.
$1k for 64gb fuck that.
And when it dies I don't know what I'll do. I really should back up soon.
>>
My PC turns 10 next month, building a new one just seems like such a pain in the fucking ass.

There are no fames with modern graphics I have an interest in running on my PC at the time being so I hope to hold off until either I get a new better paying job or the bubble bursts.
>>

Until it dies because I don't need more.

My pc is like the ship of Theseus, it keeps evolving for years

Out of my 5k games I have 17 that i can't play because of hardware (including vr ones) so I think I'll hold onto my 9yo pc for a while still.
