You play a detective who's having nightmares who goes to a perpetually flooded town with rivers for streets and full of mutated fish people and monkey people who there is racial conflict between and who goes to this place as he gets word that the answers he's looking for might be here. Then comes a very compelling detective game of you looking more into the history of this weird town, the cult, the supernatural, the political scheming while actually needing to use your head to look for clues through public records and questioning people. Everything about that stuff to me is fantastic and at that point you may think "well where's the flaws?" and that comes in the form of the other part of the gameplay which is a third person shooter and it's legit some of the worst TPS gameplay I've ever fucking played. If you go into it just for the detective gameplay and the cool setting I think it's a great time but yeah the combat is awful. I'd genuinely recommend just playing the game with combat difficulty on easy cause it's not worth engaging with. There's also detective difficulty which if you put on easy will literally put a waypoint of where to go for babies but if you play on hard you have to do everything yourself with no hints or guides and it doesn't even tell if you if you've got the right answer so hard is the way to go.
