The main form of skill expression is dodging/parrying which is not valued by the developers. Only thing that matters is how much damage you put in a window of time, and rotations aren't complex (despite looking visually appealing)This leaves it very vulnerable to powercreep, none of the combatants from earlier in the game are remotely close in strength compared to the newer ones.Very good looking backgrounds and environments, albeit exploration isn't really their focus with the bike+flying. I think this would really benefit from 1.0's running around.The issue is that flying+bike is very important for echo grinding. I honestly think echoes are of the worst parts of the game and they should honestly just cull the whole thing.
>>744122830I'm done with Wuwa, I think. The open world, while pretty, is very much just "open the map, track PoI, then go from Point A to B" over and over. You don't really interact with it, and stuff like flying and the motorcycle trivialize exploration as well. The story has some moments (Phrolova's chapter is the best gacha writing I've seen across 5 games, whereas I found Aemeath's rather poor) but they're mostly character focused and they clearly have no idea what they're doing overall and it's really just banking on hype moments and aura. The gameplay is odd, it has more depth than something like Genshin, but at the same time feels worse because every character is just endless VFX spam with i-frames. Every enemy feels the exact same to fight because of it, even if there's some underlying good systems.Because of these 3 points I'm taking a break after the collab, but also because I don't want to sit through half a year of chinawank until the next region. I'll see how 4.0 is but I doubt any of these 3 points will change.
