Go to shmup wiki and check the video index. Look up the no-miss run for Gain. That whole channel is where all the good routing is, in general. Do not 1:1 copy those routes, but if you're looking for an approachable and optimal way to get past something dangerous it's probably there. Chinopolis' 11mil route also is actually decent for some ideas, and some of Kamui's stuff is actually not that hard to utilize and something I wish I looked at more closely.The dumbest easiest way to squash rank is to just homing set up at the start of stage 5, then suicide and pick up 2 options. You don't really need homing to do the stage but it's harder and unnecessary. Try to at least get 5 mil by the end of stage 5, that will almost guarantee the 7mil extend the final stage. Not a difficult task for gain.

In arcade shmups and other arcade style games if you credit spam your way through the entire game to see "all the content the game has to offer" you're never going to make it because they're not content dense in the sense that RPG are. It's okay to be stuck in a stage that you can't clear yet on 1cc and just play that over and over until you get good enough at the game to make it. That's the content of those games. Same applies to Ninja Gaiden if you want to start with that. There are games that I've cleared already that I can still get back to and be entertained by because I feel shaky enough in my skills that I still see plenty of room for improvement. A content progression mindset player would never do that because they've already extracted everything novel to them out of the game.
