For example: After Wall Market you discover that Corneo was an informant for Shinra. You corner him and he confesses that Shinra is planning on dropping the Sector 7 Plate to kill off AVALANCHE. Now this is pretty distressing news. Shinra is going to kill 2 cities worth of people just to take out 6 people. And after the boss fight there's a mad dash to get back to Sector 7. The time from Corneo to Sector 7 takes like 15 to 20 minutes but that brevity works in its favor because this is rush. But Remake has to stretch this shit out. Now instead of 15 minutes, we're at like an hour to go through the sewers and the Train Graveyard. And within the Train Graveyard we have to put a bunch of undead spirits to rest. Meanwhile you can literally see Sector 7 under attack in the distance. We don't have time for this bullshit but Remake has to stretch out a 4 hour section of game into 40. So there's scenes of Tifa and Aerith endearing to one another at a point where everyone should be scrambling to get home.
