The real answer is that in software in general most text strings are stored as .po files which are edited in a tool like this. When somebody is asked to translate a game they're just given something that looks like this and told to get translating. They usually vomit out a translation and send their results and it never gets checked. Sometimes several people work on the same file at once. What I'm guessing happened here is "In the south of the Lands Between." was a separate entry in a .po file so whoever got to translate that block put a capital letter in front of and then whoever edited the "Considered an especially nutritious ingredient" line forgot to add a line break, so by the time it gets to the text rendering engine in Elden Ring it renders it as one line. If you've ever played a game where pronouns randomly change from one sentence to the next or singulars become plurals, it's usually fuckery like this. Text in a .po file isn't even required to be in the order it appears in so it's perfectly possible that line 2 is at the start of the file and line 1 is all the way at the end of it.
