I'm depressed because this game isn't challenging anymore.

apparently they added this monstrosity into the game a few years back.
I hate how villagers have become a major focal point of the game. they take away from the gloomy, lonely atmosphere the game always had.

How did Notch get away with making a literal jewish caricature.

What I really love about Minecraft's paintings, barring a few recent additions, is that they're all based on the works of Kristoffer Zetterstrand, who makes these surreal paintings that are made to mimic video game visuals. Notice how even in the original, the fire is pixelated.

There's something quite intriguing about taking video game visuals and stripping of the context that makes them make sense. Suddenly you realize how strange pixel art really is.

They also provide way too may resources way too easily, taking away the exploration aspect of the game and are one of the major factors forcing you to settle.

the solution is simple: just make the material cost of the tools part of the price alongside emeralds
that way diamonds don't become completely useless once you've leveled up villagers

>Kristoffer Zetterstrand,
Apparently that was Notch's brother in law. Pretty nice signal boost, being in the best selling game of all time. I was gonna see if he also did Donkey Kong, assuming no, but I guess he did.

Modern gaming is such a behemoth both culturally and technology wise that it's strange to think at one point in time, pixel art was the best you were going to get.
