Replaying Remake in tandem/succession with Rebirth is really opening my eyes up to how devoid Rebirth is of level content. The caves and whatnot that normally comprise this are all hallways with a fork here and there (not that the original is much better in this regard, but it is a step down from Remake). It makes for something a little awkward when the level content of Rebirth is in the open world, being that it's not much of an open world at all but rather has intentional routing and gating, but it's delegated between all these fixed and predetermined objectives. I did wind up enjoying it but still was less consistently engaged with it than I am with Remake.

There are players who seem to believe whatever Cloud feels for Aerith is cause he has Zack's entire personality which is false, and that what Aerith feelings for Cloud is related to Zack also false because even in the OG she confirms she wants to meet the real him. In Part 3, the real Cloud will emerge and we're more than likely going to get a Zerith reunion (albeit it will not be romantic) so the whole "they don't actually like eaach other for their true selves" delusion will be put to rest for good. A Clerith kiss happening between true!Cloud and an Aerith (who gets closure and reaffirms that Cloud is the one she now likes) makes the most narrative sense for their story. I would even argue that the Tifa kiss happened too early for their own separate story.
