The individual arcs are definitely enjoyable as a standalone thing, but they're not tied to the main storyline with anything more than it leading to them wanting to protect the digital world.And now I will really piss off everybody; the Digital World in Time Stranger is beautiful and interesting visually, but they don't particularly use it for anything in the main story. The game takes place in the Digital World, but it also could have taken place anywhere including a blue cube void or inside random geometric dungeons like SMT does.
