I also haven't been following quest markers, so I didn't realize the tower bosses had actual questlines related to them until recently because I always stumbled upon the towers first. The one questline I did find didn't really add that much context to the fight, though, so I don't think I missed out on much.It took me a while to find pure quartz, and it was some time before I understood just how big of a deal a few more points of work suitability (and by extension, condensing) was, but I haven't had too many problems otherwise. Guides wouldn't have helped with a few other dumb things I was doing, like how I didn't notice the "stack similar items into container" button until somewhat recently.
