>stick drift after 2 years of moderate usageWhat do now?
>>744530494TMR
>>744530494>me when i lie
>>744530494sell on ebay at a discount and dont mention drift
>>744530582What else is it called when the left stick moves up on its own
>>744530494Are you sure it's not just dirt inside the controller? I fixed my switch controller by just cleaning it
Doesn't matter. Your thumbs are on the sticks most of the time. Better drift than a dead zone that's large.
>>744530494>2 yearsMy black one had it after 1, yet my white one has zero issues after 3 years.Basically, it's a pseudo lottery, because the build quality of these things is extremely inconsistent. Either you buy a completely new one, try to fix the current one by replacing its stick, or get a new another brand controller that's more reliable.
>>744530494buy a new one, they're only like fifty bucks
>>744530494Buy something else Sony won't fix it they paid off the legal system so no class action lawsuits for you
>>744530494Stop buying first party controllers. They have unironically worse quality control, less features, more bugs etc than the cheaper third party options. I really wish I was joking with this post. You can buy some random 8bit do or gamesaar and you will have a better experience
>>744530804>I only play casual movie games where precise inputs don't matterWe know, tranny. Absolutely abhorrent post, KYS
>>744530494Switch to PC and buy controllers with TMR sticks>>744530582You got me I actually meant stick drift after 1 year
The first one I bought had no issue, bought another one for the color later and only been using it ever since. Recently I noticed the joysticks of the first one are extremely sticky. Cleaning them with a wet cloth temporarily gets rid of the issue but shortly after they become sticky again. It didn't happen when I was still using it before buying the other one. What the fuck is this problem ? Also thinking of swapping the sticks to hall effect ones, may as well since I can't get rid of the stickiness
>>744530494Go check out Chink controllers like Leadjoy and Gamesir, they are now better than official controllers. I think 8-bitdo ones are also good.
>>744530494if you're on pc and looking for a good controller i would recommend the switch 2 pro controller. the build quality is much better than the playstation ones.
>>744532339What's different from the pro controller of the first switch? Any improvements?
>>744532402i never owned the first switch pro controller but i've heard people say the sticks and triggers were improved.
>>744532613They should have improved the god awful dpad
>>744530494My original dual sense is leaking plasticizer from the thumbsticks. The heat this year has exacerbated it quite a bit too.
>>744535320So that's what it is, happening to one of mine>>744532071
Keep your eyes peeled on those goofy "Nonbliep" RH-5189 controllers, they tend to go on sale quite often and they're pretty feature-complete compared to an actual Dualsense on top of coming with hall sticks and a bigger battery
>>744530494dual edge
One of my buttons fucked up and I just replaced the whole controller with Volcanic Red.
>>744532402Mildly better d-pad, silenced buttons and a smooth stick mechanism very similar to the ones on the Vader controllers, headphone jack, it's a pain in the fucking ass to repair or shell-swap. Don't recommend it if you already have a Switch 1 Pro controller and you don't own a Switch 2
>>744530494Try and recalibrate it. It probably won't fix it, but it can make things a little better.https://dualshock-tools.github.io/
>>744530494I only played a single game with my ps5 and now it gathers dust. My controller works fine.
>>744530494>>744531030You suppose to watch the "version". Like Sony always fucks up the early controllers while making working ones later.
>>744530612unironically me, i lie about shit on ebay all the time and not once has anyone complained let alone left a negative reviewive sold failing hard drives and pretended used shit was new just because i could seal it back up
>>744530494>>744538776>You suppose to watch the "version"ThisDo you fuckers ever google anything ? Pic related >>744539450Literal shit-skin monkey brain behavior
>>744540104im 100% white
>>744540324What does it matter when you behave like a shit skin tho ?
>>744530494Solder on some hall effect ones....You do know how to solder....right?Don't tell me you're a no skill nigger bro...
>>744530494>stick drift after 3 months of daily usepieces of shit is what they are, same with the xbox onesplanned obsolesence
>>744531030Of course it's a lottery, it's all made in China or Vietnam, places with zero quality control. It's the same for all controllers but also for $100+ gaming mice and $200+ keyboards.
>>744540457>places with zero quality controlGuy that's never once bought a "Made in USA" product and has no idea how bad non-Asian QC really is
>>744540392i am a honorary jew and i treasure my status
>>744530582nah it's legit. I've had a PS5 controller for about 2 years as well. I don't even own a console and I just use it for a handful of games, and I don't actually have a lot of time to play vidya at all, so we're talking very low hours of usage overall. And just last week I started noticing drift on the right stick. Needed to go into steam input and widen the deadzone range as a bandaid fix.I'll probably buy replacement sticks that use magnets or whatever and solder them in.
>>744540104These still fail they just last longer.
>>744540567Make sure it's TMR sticks, they're better on battery life than hall effect sticks are and the Dualsense AKA fucking battery hog needs every drop of juice it can get
>>744530494>>744532339If you're on PC there's only one controller you should buy.
>>744530494Take it apart and clean it before looking at any other solution. Sometimes the stick is actually fucked and other times it's just dust build up and cleaning it will fix it.
>>744540754Yeah, the Logitech K120.
>>744540754thats right
For me, it's the USB charging port that broke. I just ordered a GameSAAR Cyclone 2, I hear it's pretty good and cheaper thatn an "official" controller.
>>744530494why the fuck would you buy a sony console ? what games did you moderately play on it ?
>>744540873I've had a DS4 and two Dualsenses and I play games wired and the port for every single one eventually starts fucking up and disconnecting if you move the controller too much. Sony's quality control is pure trash, haven't had this happen with any other controller
>>744530582
>>744541029Having a playstation controller doesn't mean you own the console. Lots of people use controller on PC.
>>744530494replace the potentiometer assembly. it's a 10 minute job
>>744541114it makes even less sense if you play on PC, why would you buy an inferior controller ? even lowcost 8bitdo are better than this
>>744540881We're specifically talking about controllers. KBM is great too, but off topic.>>744540902Doesn't have trackpads. It's consoleslop and not worthy of being considered a PC controller.
>Buy a perfectly decent pad with TMR sticks for fifty bongs>console tards pay twice the price for defective crapI genuinely don't understand this
>>744530494If your controller looks like that after "moderate" usage, you must be slamming that thing into the ground on a daily basis>sticks look loose as fuck and wont return to center>completely shined all over to a mirror finish from sweat alone>friction ring around the right stick appears to be completely gonelike holy shit dude are you a nigger or what
>>744541578you dont need "trackpads" if anything trackpads are "consoleslop" since if youre on a computer youd have a mouse and keyboard right in front of you
>charging port dislodged in just one yearI'm going to drop a thermonuclear warhead on Sony headquarters.
>>744541578>KBM>keyboard and mouseDid I say anything about a mouse?
>>744530494I get stick drift after 3 months of moderate usage.
>>744540104I remember reading that latest revision was a bit of a downgrade, but I don't remember why
>>744541829>you dont need "trackpads" Yes I do. A lot of games simply aren't playable on controller without them, and even more are much better with them.>if anything trackpads are "consoleslop" since if youre on a computer youd have a mouse and keyboard right in front of youNot if I'm playing on the couch. >>744541862I guess not. Still not a controller though.
>>744541829>open minimap or menu in game>instead of using analog stick to slowly move a cursor around, I can just flick my finger across a trackpad and instantly zero in on what I want to click onYeah, using a keyboard and mouse is faster and more precise in 100% of all scenarios, but in the case that you're playing a game that feels comfier on a controller, navigating menus and maps with a trackpad is the way of the future rather than clunkily moving a cursor around with an analog stick.
>>744541754You don't play games. Stop posting shitter
How would I best go about installing TMR sticks for a Dualsense? I found a guy on Ebay who installs them for like $50, is that a fair price?
>>744531030There was a revision that increased the durability on them iirc, the launch ones drifted easier than the ones that were produced starting with the baby blue one.
>>744530494I got a 30$ or so gamesaar when my ps4 controller stopped working and i wasn't buying into the 70/80$ shitty controller ponzi scheme. Works perfectly fine for all that i need
>>744547072That's a bit high but I'd assume it covers both-ways postage. Analog sticks are pretty fiddly if you don't have one of those dedicated soldering iron tips or soldering plates just for them.
>>744530494This stick drift shit has be some meme. I have a working DS1, DS2, DS3, DS4. Out of all I only had the X button on the DS2 wear out from use. Sticks work on all of them to this day.
You get a GameSir Tarantula Pro>BUT BUT INDIA SIR PAJEET XDIt's a hong kong manufacturer with a dumb name but the best controllers. Hope this helps.
>>744547332Older potentiometers from the PS1 and PS2 days are much less drift-prone (the PS2 in particular actually drifts like all fucking hell if you're recording its raw input on a PC, then uses a very robust auto-calibration to cancel it out). DS3 has hall effect analogs depending on model. DS4 is where drift problems started getting pronounced.
still waiting for a good fighting game pad
>>744547401their 8k polling controller is legit the best controller on the market. the only controller to have an A+ rating for both wired & wireless on the #1 input lag controller test site.
>>744547401I'm waiting on that wireless version of the Tegenaria Lite, I fucking hate mechanical buttons.>>7445474878bitdo makes good ones in both stick and leverless flavor. Something more pocketable unironically you should look into that 8bitdo Lite SE controller and use it upside down for a mini leverless.
>>744534161Still better than the Xbox or Playstation dpad's
>>744547425games used l3 and r3 way less back in the day, i swear a lot of the issues are with those stick presses(and dirt getting into the potentiometer when you do it). you'll see a lot of people say that they barely used their controller and it drifted and i believe them, because they probably never dusted it off and dirt got in the sensors.
>>744547513tarantula pro 8k is wired only retardbro
>>744532339The Sw2 controller works with PC now? I remember it was a common complaint at launch that they wouldn't work on PC.
>>744547640g7 pro 8k is wired & wireless.prefer wireless because you ignore the windows usb polling stack entirely which chokes single thread.
>>744532339>$90
>>744532339It's a little too small. Using it for Splatoon Raiders hurt my hand a bit(my left index finger from how often I was pressing L2). I have piano fingers though, if you have shorter stubbier ones maybe it's fine.
>>744547563>8bitdo makes good ones in both sticki heard the default stick has too much rebound and that it's a bit of a nuisance to mod out of the box
>>744547770>responds to a post about tarantula>b-but g7they have two 8000Hz polling rate controllers now
>>744547916><the only controller to have an A+ rating for both wired & wirelessobviously not talking about the tarantula, double retard bro.
>>744547891I can't say anything about the stick itself OOB but I've heard a lot that the model with a stick is really easy to mod, stuff like hotplugs for Sanwa-style buttons or changing out 8-way gates for 4-way gates on the stick. Leverless one is basically a keyboard and has hotswap MX switches.
>>744547916If you do 8k in wired you are retarded. Check latencymon.
>>744547981>their 8k polling controller implies there's only one of those :)
>>744532402Grip buttons
Do people seriously just make threads to spew lies about Playstation?
>>744548614Yeah, how dare they accuse PS5 controllers of not lasting long just because Sony is cheaping out on the parts.
>>744530494I haven't gotten stick drift on a Dual Sense. The Dualshock 4s I had did get it too often.
>>744530494what the fuck is stick drift i still my xbox 360 controller. does that have stick drift?
>>744530494Mod it with TMR sticks or pay one of the few reputable companies out there to add it for you with a new battery.
>>744551420What companies?
>>744551443Stickfixrepair for the States or Clutchcontrollers for Euro. Lookup their youtube channels.
>>744551664Thanks, I'll look them up.
>>744531841It's a really sad state of affairs. It used to be the exact opposite, back in the PS360 times and before, and I'd argue even during the early Xbox One/PS4 generation. I don't know about Nintendo though.
>>744532339Sticks feel so smooth with S2's pro controller, such a shame they didn't go TMR
It's 2026 and nobody has figured out the actual reason some modern controllers suffer from early drift. All you hear people blaming the first thing they could think of, whatever that is.At least workarounds like hall effect exist, but it would nice to know the root cause.
>>744530494throw it in the bin and buy a Gamesir. Unless you're an actual PS5 gamer in which case, well, at least you won't miss any games with your busted gamepad>>744530612>>744539450you people are vermin making society worse for relatively minor personal benefit and everything negative that happens to you is deserved
