The original trilogy frequently has graphical bugs and runs worse at some points than it does on the original console. Only GoW1 kind of runs better, but that already has a native PC port anyways (No I'm not talking about reloaded). You're better off buying a used 360 or hoping someone ports GoW3.

The only actual saving grace has been AI so far, love it or hate it, it's partially been the reason we've been getting so many fan PC ports at a quick rate. They're checkpoints, you can't resume your game after quitting from checkpoints, you resume from chapter breaks.Unless you're playing co-op, that mode has the option to resume from checkpoints. And you can play solo in the co-op mode if you're a pussy.As for lighting, I don't see a problem with the lighting itself, but I think what it's missing is an atmospheric post process effect pass, which does affect how lighting looks too.So for example in that tunnel mission with the car where you're only supposed to see the big ass dudes' eyes popping up in the darkness, you can see the whole model just popping in and out because it's missing a dark blue fog effect that should kick in during that part.It is a pretty big flaw, for sure, but I'll still take it over playing on 360 again. If you have a newer Xbox then sure, you already have 4K 60, I wouldn't sacrifice those effects for higher than 60fps. But if the only alternative is 720p30, it's worth it.

I don't see Microsoft putting out a Gears Collection ever at this point, or a remake of any kind after E-day. I'd assume next would be Gears 6.They did just put out PC versions of Conker:L&R and a few other OG Xbox on PC. I think Digital Foundry said that they're running a 360 Emulator to run an OG Xbox emulator to run those games. So it's not out of the realm of possibility that they could randomly put out PC version of all the old Gears games
The gears multiplayer is always pretty good to me. I thought 4 and 5 campaigns were shit but multiplayer was still fun
