Why do we call them "video games"? They aren't videos. We should call them "computer games", since they're developed on computers and play the best on computers.Just my two sense, anyways.
It's called vid-con
To distinguish them from other electronic games, which didn't utilize a video output.
>>744542742Electronic games? Like what.
Are there any video games that are just sound with no video
they also contain sound and sometimes motion of you count rumble or motion controls so they should be called computer audio motion games
>>744542825Pinball machines is probably the best example or those shitty Tiger handheld games
There are terminal games that are pure text IO, no UI, no persistent elements, can be played using a printer instead of a monitor. Are those "video games" too?
>>744542827according to wikipedia there's a game called Chillingham that's specifically designed for blind people
>>744542983I would call them electronic games though not comuter games. If someone said computer games I would think they meant a game on the computer. I think its maybe to include console babbies too, who are not playing games on a real computer
Kill eachother
>>744543110anon, those are the examples of "electronic games" as you stated.>Electronic games? Like what.the ones I posted
>>744543186I was waiting for it
>>744543110consoles are just limited computers
>>744543202Yeah but calling them electronic games distinguishes them from computer games, maybe you're not this guy >>744542742 but thats what I'm arguing against
you play video games on a console and computer games on a pc
>>744543260But you don't call a console a computer, you call it a console. So video games includes computer games and console games.
>>744543269I wasn't that guy, but I definitely wouldn't call Tiger handhelds a "video game" but normies absolutely wouldI know my parents did, they got me an R-Zone handheld thinking it was just as a good as a Game Boy.

>>744543357....
>>744543576Japan don't know english proper so that doesn't count
>>744543817Hai, anon-sama. Please excuse my ignorance, gomeni.
>>744541670then how would you say vidya? computya?
>>744541670Ahhh, console video games (or vidcons as I call them), the ultimate medium of expression, able to convey any emotion ranging from hatred to love, loyalty to fear, all in front of our eyes. Ah, and with lovingly crafted art, music, and the ability to control the action, vidcons are the ultimate combination of the high arts. While I tend to play the stoic, I will be the first to admit that vidcons have driven me to cry, to scream and shout, to feel actual hate; such is the power of this force beyond our wildest reckoning. And here I am, before you, to tempt your tongues with the taint of such a tantalizing topic. And the Japanese, the true geniuses behind the world of video games. Pah, I throw my scorn upon such incompetents of the West who would mock the true art of the Japanese with 'games' such as Baldur's Gate and Madden. Perhaps it is that the West is not as intelligent as the East, but this is a matter for another day. Japan has given us such masterpieces as the Final Fantasy series, Star Ocean, Wild Arms, and of course, Arc the Lad. Yes, some of the finest vidcons in the world were created by Japanese. I come to you today to ask you in all earnesty, what is your favorite vidcon? I will reveal mine after the grand debate has illustriously begun, but not before the first poster falls victim to my plot of discussion.
>>744541670Using screens is pretty video-like to me butt fuckier.
>>744543817Do you know why it's called console in the first place, retard?
