What went so fucking RIGHT???
>>
Actual video game.

>>744551665
It's a QTE simulator so no thought is required to play it. Perfect for normalfags.
>>

>>
>play the game
>Get to act 3
>Unlock flying
>Lose interest
>Come back a full year+ later
>Takes a while to remember parry strats
>See giant flying worm
>Let's do it
>Spend literally an hour on that fight
>It gets 9 shields every turn
>It steall all AP
>Realize that I need to make it explode
>Still takes a lot longer because if I don't have enough ap it throws off my flow
>If I miss a party no big deal
>I have monoco giving max shields

Game was more fun low level

Gameplay wise? Parryslop but turnbased was something somewhat new, combos were long and spammy as fuck but this isnt souls or something so you dont have to try to fit an attack in, you actually get a turn. They also used sound cues very well, or i just noticed them better because during an enemy turn, all of your focus is on looking at and listening to the attack, not spacing, your own offense or anything else.

Pretty environments, good writing, likeable characters, compelling story, good music, reasonable gameplay.
It had no major stinking points holding it back.
>>
>>744551665
It copied 5th gen RPG's from Japan.
Unfortunately it paired the gameplay ideas with a sappy soap opera melodrama TV show plot.

Which one are you in this pic? I bet you're the HR Lady on the right.

>Pretty environments
God the environments were so, so boring. It's actually criminal to come up with a "painted" fantasy setting where literally anything could go in theory and then to make like 80% of the stages just masses of floating gray rubble.
>>
>>744551665
Actual cinema direction and endless parryslop gameplay
>>
>>744551665
>AI
>QTE
>UE5
>shallow story pretending to be deep
>souls like elements
Like it was made for normalfags

Yeah i thought it was ugly as shit

IT WAS ALL A DREAM (painting dimension)
>>
>>744551665
Anime RPG without the anime aesthetic.
>>
>>744553905
>OST's 8+ hours of insane quality, giving each area and boss their own unique music

Going from E33 to Persona 5 only to hear Take Over for *every* fuckin' normal fight in the game is mind-numbing.
>>
>>744551665
but fag33 is a shit game doughbeit
>>
>>744553905
I'm going to tell you an uncomfortable truth here. Marvel quips everywhere is a consequence of people being unable to respect the style of writing in E33. You don't complain about that any more.

These two are virgins who play gacha games btw

I think you're somewhat right. End game E33 is just perfectly parrying everything and trying to do as much burst damage as possible. Its not that engaging and the combat peaks in late act 2.

I have an issue with it similar to the one I have with Shingeki no Kyojin. I like the game premise far more than what it becomes after the plot unfold.

Gameplay is fun tho.

I'm enjoying it but I think some of these enemy movesets are really going way too far. Just beat Act 2 Renoir. Some of these combos, they just look ridiculous with the amount of fake outs and weird timings and having to parry every single attack in a chain to get a reward doesn't feel right to me. Like you would only be able to do that if you repeated fights enough times to fully memorize the moveset instead of it being a natural thing you could weave into a fight.

I really felt the same way, like past a point, what you do strategically doesn't matter at all because either you can consistently parry and never take damage, or you can't consistently parry and you quickly get fucked. Apparently there's some way of cheesing some stuff but that doesn't sound very interesting either. It would be so much better if parrying just, say, reduced damage you take by half, and then the game were rebalanced around that, so that it does matter but isn't so enormously centralizing at the expense of the actually kind of interesting turn-based combat.
And another thing, you get the 10k damage cap removal way, way too late, and it makes Act 2's balance even sillier because big nuke attacks are essentially worthless compared to even just average multi-hit attacks, and there's much less reason to take attack-boosting items, pictos, or strategies compared to defense-boosting because you keep hitting the damage cap anyway.

>Kept playing it remembering it was an "indie game" and have fun anyway

Gave up half way when I couldn't dodge or parry worth a damn and this is coming from an unc who beat Elden ring.

Should i give it another try but just download the easier parry/dodge mod?
>>
>>744556680
I didn't have this problem at all. Yes I got hit a bunch. That's why I had Lune as a healer tank with revive and healing skills. Dodge some, parry some, parry full combos after dealing with them enough times, occasionally parry a combo first time. Pretty balanced variety of outcomes and I never felt bothered by the fact I couldn't parry every single thing first time by reaction alone.
>>
>>744559350
How were you building people out? It feels like if I fail a couple parries anybody just dies right out, to the point healing doesn't seem worth the investment.
>>
>>744559350
I'm at the Paintress right now and while the first phase has been fine enough, phase 2 feels beyond ridiculous, with repeated long attack strings with Elden Ring-ass windups and fakeouts that wipe you if you miss two or three. Knowing I have to go through the already tanky phase 1 every time just for another couple chances at trying to memorize these strings of gotcha timings makes me just not want to play it.
Fromsoft has really tricked devs into picking up these seriously warped ideas about what players who choose higher difficulties actually want in their games.
>>
>>744559914
Lune gets healing and revive skills pretty early on so from that moment I just specced her entirely into health and then speed and then finally defense after those were maxed. She nearly always survives AOE combos that would otherwise wipe the team.

Just randomly hire people who never worked in video games and get incredibly lucky with every single one. Easy.
