Your thoughts on this videogame?
it's good
>>744553838I would like the game but the protagonist canonically has had sex which is very immersion breaking so now I can't like it.
>>744553838Quite possibly the best games of the decade. The movement is unbelievably satisfying. And the overall game is simply excellent.
>>744553838Tranny codedLiterally
>>744553838Tranny game
Nine Sols brutally mogged it
>>744553838My thoughts are that I'm not playing because of the main character. I had a nice time with Hollow Knight but i didn't liked Hornet and won't be buying her game.
>>744553838After what happened i wish i was Seth
>>744553838Just another unnecessarily memed into popularity indie game for the redditors audience
Why did /v/ do a complete 180 on t>>744554458Oh.
>>744554308>>744554458HK has been ruined forever because because of one selfish tranny
>>744553838Decent game, fairly standard Metroidvania with souls-like elements. The character movement is solid, even if it doesn't do anything ground-breaking in terms of abilities. There are some tricky platforming sections but your character is more than equipped to handle all of them. Even though the game has runbacks to bosses if you die, you can get back pretty quickly due to the movement (until act 3 at least). The combat is fine, although the gauntlets get repetitive and some of the bosses end up being dull as you wait for an opening, unless you decide to spam tools (in which case they become trivial).Exploration is okay, you get given objectives but the player is expected to find their own path there which is done reasonably well. Although a lot of alcoves you can find just reward rosaries or shell shards which can feel underwhelming. A lot of items end up being locked behind shops rather than being found in the world, although to be fair there's very little in the way of actual upgrades and most of the collectibles are tools that you probably won't use anyway. Plus the decision to have such a limited FOV means you have to hug every single wall to make sure you haven't missed anything, so it slows the pace of the game down greatly if you go in with a completionist mindset.A lot of the "optional" content (debatable to call it that, since act 3 is gated behind it) is quite tedious, I don't think lazy fetch quests was something Metroidvanias benefits from. Act 3 is also lacking truly interesting content in general. My biggest gripe with the game would be that the game lacks a sense of character progression, which is usually the greatest strength of a Metroidvania. Hornet's movement options mostly plateaus relatively early on. And it never feels like Hornet actually gets stronger in combat, while the world around her gets more hostile. If a genre subversion is what the devs were going for, they've achieved it. But I don't find that aspect appealing.

Oh yeah? Well I hate trannies AND like Silksong. Take that, loser!
>>744554639Nine Sols has better bosses, but Silksong is a much better game.
>>744554458how many games have you developed?
>>744554639yeah their catgirls have better butts
>>744556284Why would you play a tranny game then?
>>744553838Enemy health is bloated, there's too little room for error, money is scarce and it doesn't feel like you get stronger over the course of the game. Overall, fun but way too annoying.

>>744556457Hey my phone was made by slave labor in China. That didn't stop me either.
>>744554458>no women on the dev team>game is goodClassic tale
>>744555936I actually like SilksongI just wanted to make a joke about it being coded by a tranny
quite fun, it did feel like they ran out of ideas for combat gimmicks well before they decided to stop making combat encounters. There were a lot of very cool art pieces, but not nearly as much to back it up as there was in the first game. You really do feel the game suffer for the dev time running long in many ways like that. The platforming was good generally, but not as demanding as the first game, although I expect that this will be one area where they focus heavily on in future content.Same again with the music. None of the tracks hit me like the exploration tracks from the first game. The takeaway i had from the whole thing is that it's difficult to have too much of a good thing, and there's a lot of good stuff, a LOT lot, but if you spend too much time to even everything out and smooth out your curves, it starts to lose the memorability.

I can't believe Hornet is fucking dead
>>744558370>>744558201
Never played it. Don't really know what it's about. My impression is that it's one of those indie games where you jump around on platforms and stuff, and there's no immersive story or town wandering like I enjoy in a lot of games. Not really my jam.
>>744558520Yeah it's your typical tranny shit not worth it
>>744553838It improves upon HK's core mechanics but completely fumbles the execution. Not only is the world poorly stitched together, the third act that is supposed to be the big moment that wraps up everything is pure ass.As fun as it is to fight some of the bosses, getting there is a slog on replay. It's a good game, but Hollow Knight is the better experience from start to finish, with or without the DLC.
>>744553838Very pretty, but the dev-team vanished up their own asshole when it came to balance tuning.
>>744558827>Not only is the world poorly stitched togetherHow is Pharloom poorly stitched together?
>>744553838Brutally mogged by both Nine Sols and Lost Crown. It is a bloated, boring game that disrespects the player's time and suffers from the same non-story and pretentious atmosphere like its predeccessor (which redditors liked because it reminded thhem of Dark Souls)TLDR It's shit, just play Nine Sols or Lost Crown if you want a good soulsvania
>>744559671>just play Nine SolsSilksong is so much better than Nine Sols it is silly. I have no clue how someone can think it is better, unless you really like boss fights.
>>744559816Silksong haters tend to be a bit dramatic sometimes, best not to reply to obvious bait
>>744559816Silksong is an extremely dated game compared to it.Nine Sols has no bloat, a great story and characters you actually care about, a great OST, amazing bosses with no runbacks allowing you to actually enjoy the challenge rather than waste your time so the developers can circle jerk about "muh 70 hours of content", no gatekeeping of basic qol features behind upgrades and so on so forth
>>744558417wake up bitch
>>744559986>Nine Sols has no bloatYou have not fought the innumerable amount of copy pasted mini bosses. There is hardly any variety in enemies you encounter. Exploration is also as deep as a puddle, 99% of everything of importance is in the Pavillion. You also get to directly warp between the Pavillion and any node in the world fairly early on.I do like the story, it actually is great. The characters are compelling, the world building is interesting. This is something the game does a lot better than Silksong... But Silksongs story is a complete after thought. And I appreciate that fact.
>>744559986>Nine Sols has no bloatIs this the cope people use to defend it having underwhelming exploration?By all means it's a good take on 2D Sekiro but as a total metroidvania package it's lacking. Comparing it to Silksong which has a massive interconnected world with great exploration and progression is silly.Lost Crown has better non-combat sequences than Nine Sols but similarly I wouldn't call its exploration top-notch. It's somewhere between the two.
>>744553838It honestly needs a re-look into the difficulty and progression. I can see a majority of players not even bothering to complete it let alone finish Act 3 because of how difficult it can get. That being said, easily one of the best Metroidvanias when it comes to atmosphere, music, exploration and setting. Combat is okay but the difficulty spikes are just some fucking bullshit. I 100% the game and I never want to play the game again unless it's through some rebalancing mod or patch.
>>744556661>game is difficult>but the last boss who looks really cool is an absolute pushover fucking retarded, my only real gripe with the game.
>>744561216>but the last boss who looks really cool is an absolute pushoverWhat?
>>744561280im obviously talking about GMS, lost lace is post game.
>>744561396>lost lace is post game.It isn't. Grandmother Silk is a fake out final boss fights and Lost Lace is the actual final boss.
>>744558827>As fun as it is to fight some of the bosses, getting there is a slog on replay. They'd better make a Pantheon DLC for Silksong, it'd be stupid not to. There's probably a mod for it already, now that I think about it.But idk. I'm in the middle of a replay and it feels like I'm flying through it. Since I know where everything is and I've beaten all the bosses before, I'm not hitting a wall at any point like I did the first go around. And there's enough variety in the tools, crests, and paths you can take through the acts to keep it fresh. This time around I went to Far Fields earlier and got the Drifter's Cloak before the Widow fight. It makes a huge difference. There is a LOT of content though, I get how making yourself do all of it when it's not clicking with you can feel like a chore. And I can see how Act 3 is like Symphony of the Night's Inverted Castle, where the victory lap is dragging on and you just want it to be over. I just started Act 3 in my replay, so we'll see. My rosy view of it may change.
>>744561619As someone who completed Act 3, I found it fun but it can be a bit tedious here and there. They do this mistake of cutting off some shortcuts, so traversal is a bit longer. You also lose access to your little travel buddy until you fight a boss.
>>744561786>You also lose access to your little travel buddyEh, I'm pretty sure the first thing literally everyone does after waking up in songclave is bee-lining to the grand bellway. And the calling song is an S-tier reward for killing that boss.
>>744561396>>744561450Technically, you do get the credits for beating Act 2, so I think it's meant to be "an end" for people who are looking for an off-ramp by that point. But we all know Lost Lace is the true Final Boss of Silksong, just like Sister of the Void is the "True Ending" and Weaver Queen sort of feels like a Bad Ending.
>>744562047>Weaver Queen sort of feels like a Bad Ending. What's funny is that Weaver Queen is Hornet doing exactly what the knight did in HK: annihilating an existing god and ascending to their rank.
>>744553838Great game. Not as good as Lost Crown, though.
>>744553838The best metroidvania ever made, one of the best games ever made, far superior to Hollow Knight. I am very happy that Team Cherry made an uncompromising proper sequel for the fans of Hollow Knight and not a mass appeal casualized acccessible product for everyone. All "criticism" of this game is caused by little fragile egos of noobs who got filtered. Skill issue + IQ issue.
>>744553838Pretty fun if you turn on auto-map and infinite shards
>>744565667VERY stale bait.
>>744562317>ubislopvania featuring brown homosexualyeah Im sure its great
>>744553838Amazing game and my favorite thing about it is how hard it filtered casuals who thought they were good at games because they can get through Souls games by abusing any one of the million cheese options.
>>744569226Sounds like it‘s pretty shit if that‘s your favorite thing about it
>>744553838It was excellent.
>>744554458A troon developer whose only role is in programming or code has to be a sleeper green flag, especially for platformers. Celeste, Rusted moss, silksong. That's 3 games I can name with troons being in this position and all 3 of them are excellent platformers
>>744556661This was a fun challenge. Not as intense as something like Karmelita, but much lower margin for error, so you had to be on the ball the whole time. I really hope we get a Godhome in the DLC.
>>744553838One of the greatest games of all time, brutally mogs like 99% of other metroidvanias, but unfortunately discussion here is impossible now because one of the devs trooned out.I think what makes it even more rage inducing that the tranny is undeniably the least important person on the team. He barely did any coding for Hollow Knight, that was 95% all another guy, he basically only coded one of the DLCs, meaning they could easily replace this faggot if they wanted to, but they won't cause they'd get crucified if they did. I also hate how utterly attention seeking this whole thing has been, it's typical troon behavior but his faggy pfp on bluesky he commissioned someone to draw makes me sick, he acts as if he created the damn series when he's just a code monkey, it's like if one of the random japs who worked under Shigeru Miyamoto coding Mario trooned out and they represented themselves with Mario, Link and Donkey Kong.
>>744569658Celeste is a horrendous example, the whole game has tranny shit smeared all over it
>>744554458damn, troons make amazing games
>>744565667This but unironically
>>744569658Well trannies are final form autists so it makes sense that they fit right into a role that has no creative input like coding
>>744553838Possibly the best videogame of all time, and it would have been recognized as such had it come out a few years earlier. Unfortunately, genuine videogame discussion (or artistic discussion in general) in 2026 is impossible because professional reviewers are all hacks who only know how to purple prose themselves into a clickable article, and people on the internet are brainrotted and feel the need to be a part of every discussion.
>>744570408There will unironically be revisionism for Silksong in the years to come, it'll be just like how everyone who hated Dark Souls for being "too hard" now pretends they always loved it and it was ahead of it's time
Silksong killed indie games by being too cheap. Team Cherry has blood on their hands.
>>744554458>dev reputation forever ruined because a selfish tranny HAD to do this shit publicly. This is why we check socials for red (rainbow) flags before hiring.
>>744566872Trying to dismiss the truth you dislike is stale.Silksong is Hollow Knight + the best elementts of Dark Souls 2, Sekiro, Bloodborne and Castlevania. Team Cherry created one of the best games in the history of gaming with Silksong and the DLCs aren't even here yet, I can't wait.
>>744569226Based. Souls casuals are the biggest subhumans, they got filtered by Dark Souls 2 and are seething to this day about it, then later they got filtered so giga hard by Sekiro that they even ignore it as a Souls game and don't about it, utterly traumatized.
>>744569764Fun fight for sure, but gets mogged by ABSOLUTE RADIANCE. I wonder if Silksong DLC will be able to surpass ABSOLUTE RADIANCE.
>>744553838>first playthrough>everything feels so tanky, maybe I'm doing something wrong>I was doing something wrong>playing with the reaper crest>second playthrough >force myself to deal with hunter's diagonal pogo>after Widow, hunter gets a 30% nail damage passive as long as you don't facetank everything>use first simple key to get flintslate for 8 seconds of 50% more damage>these 2 stack>get actually strong tools and not the meme cogflies>go to beastfly that filtered almost everyone on their first playthrough>rape her like she's nothingI love the game even more now.
>>744569404Uh oh filtered.
>>744571583Diagonal pogo filtered many and they were punished for it
>>744571583Hunter Crest is absolute peak, I love the diagnol pogo, when you hit it, you can do a very cool backwards motion circular movement which looks like movement, but you hover in the same position practically and can do another diagonal pogo and repeat this as many times as you can.Gives gameplay legitimacy to the name "Hornet". Team Cherry are very talented, I love Silksong.
You press up and L to use your subweapon. This is the kind of basic level stuff they fucked up. Its not a great game. HK is a better title by every metric, and there are dozens of better metroidvanias.
but a tranny made it! STOP HAVING FUN!

>>744553838Its a solid 8/10 metroidvania. It annoys me that from act 2 onwards they added a lot of dead ends on the map with worthless rewards that just made exploration feel like a waste of time.I prefer the atmosphere, world and lore of the first one.
>>744553838probably the last game I was obsessed with as in play all day sleep and as soon as I'd wake up and boot it up again.>exploring new areas>collecting trinkets and baubles>fun combat and i liked the enemy designsmina kind of has the same effect but not as much with silksong. waiting for the dlc.

>>744580610At least 50% of the tools and charms are vendor-bound rather than being exploration rewards. You will not use the vast majority of them, a small amount of good tools are REALLY good, they outshine the rest massively. And to begin with, tools have the dogshit shell shard system attached to them which is by far the worst resource system in the genre. The amount of crests is actually very small given the size of the game, and you can only use one at a time. Most of them are sidegrades too, there's no real reason to use anything but Wanderer, Architect or maybe Shaman. Compare it to Blasphemous 2 with several extensive movesets available at the same time and used in exploration in different ways.Likewise, the amount of masks and spools is pitiful given the game size. Most of the time your reward is a buch of rosaries near a pit.Third act is dogshit and actively drags the game down. It's not hard to access at all, just connected to a bunch of grindy sidequests and literal resource sinks too.Oh, and there's another issue: in act 2 you either get both traversal upgrades very fast and there's nothing to look forward to for the next 20 hours, or you go into completely different direction and constantly stumble on dead ends, forcing you to backtrack a lot which feels equally shit.On top of it, no boss or gauntlet even gives you something as basic as monetary or resource reward. It's fucking pathetic.

>>744580942>I beat the game im in your elite clubI posted 2 gameplay clips of my own gameplay already in this thread. Do you see any kind of elitistic pixel perfect gameplay? The game is way easier than you guys make it seem. The problem is that most of the people on the internet, and this shithole of a site as well, are retarded. No clue of what makes a build good, no clue of what tools to equip, no clue of which tool or silk skill is better for each boss fight. Obviously you can't get these things before you play a fight, but it seems that the majority of the people here lack the pattern recognition to realize this after a fight going wrong. For example, I see people who bring in tacks in fights where the boss stays in the air, like the conchflies, or bring in the cogflies against bosses that can parry them and serve you the riposte, like Lace or Second Sentinel, and not for a single moment the thought that "hey this tool sucks, let me try something else" crosses their mind.
>>744559816>VASTLY superior combat system, it's not just bosses that BTFO silksong but even normal enemies and minibosses, most Nine Sols minibosses are more dangerous than Silksong bosses>no general contact damage, enemies are actually designed to threaten you beyond just rushing into you with their hitbox>instead of giving a bunch of shitty options, laser focuses on just a few mechanics and polishes them to an utmost limit, charged deflect in particular is a genius idea, once you master it, all encounters become infinitely more satisfying>doesn't overstay its welcome, like 20 hours long, packs a fantastic story in that timeframe>ironically, rewards you for exploration way better than Silksong, meaningful upgrades are everywhere, its own version of charm system actually greatly impacts your playstyle>far better ost, far better aesthetics, actually touches some genuinely fucked up themes no other game typically dares to exploreNahNine Sols is probably overall the best modern metroidvania as a sum of all its elements. Some metroidvanias like Lost Crown have better platforming, others match it in terms of combat system like Blasphemous 2, but nothing gives the same package.
>>744581696Wrong on all counts. Hunter with the max buff and flintslate outperforms everything. Period. >>744553838Sadly couldn't get into it, played like 12 hours and it's been paused since. I loved the original game, one of my favorites in the genre, but I think they failed to capture what made it special a second time. Silksong feels bloated. Simplicity was a strength, not something in need of correcting. Who the hell wanted an errand board and fetch quests in Hollow Knight? Exploration rewards feel awful too. I see where they were coming from, give you universally useful currency and let you decide what you want, but it feels boring.
I don't understand the fags that say silksong has better level design than nine sols, why? because you walk 20x times more through rocky hallways and climb the same shitty platform 40th times to get to another level? That's shit padded level design

You want to rely on these things, because you suck at actually playing the game properly and using the main systems of these games.Words can't describe how happy I am that ELITE S-Tier developers like FromSoftware and Team Cherry understand these things and completely ignore you losers and your crying for over a decade now.

>>744583496It would be easy for the developers to limit the number of times you can use a tool/sub-weapon between rests. It makes me laugh when Metroidvaniafags talk about exploration. You are just playing a regular platformer that just happens to have ditched the level select screen. You are not exploring, you are just clearing a level. Real exploration is what actual adventure games do, where you are expected to properly understand the world and unpick it like a puzzle. Some examples of metroidvanias that actually do exploration properly are La-Mulana 1 & 2.
>>744584229Oh nice guess I'll check laterme from 10 years ago better not have chickened out and tricked myself into thinking I did beat it after watching Youtube videos...
>>744583496I don't mind them but given the way the game is designed I always felt like the pickups should improve a capacity that always refreshes. Like instead of picking up 50 holy arrows across the entire game and then finding a merchant, you should find 10 capacity improvements and buy 5 from a merchant. It would encourage much more experimentation and item use.Sekiro in particular had certain bosses where you only had like three shots to beat certain bosses in a non ball busting way because the resource needed to break through their damage reduction was limited to like 2 you had to buy from a merchant.
>>744583809>>744583950You fucking retards. It's not which one has the best DPS with nail. Hunter has twice the red tool slots but has higher skill ceiling, although it can be more fun. Wanderer is for the "nail only" purist autists. It's not a competition. It's like comparing apples to oranges.
>>744584340>It makes me laugh when Metroidvaniafags talk about exploration. You are just playing a regular platformer that just happens to have ditched the level select screen. >>744584136Bait used to be believable.
>>744584226You're missing the entire point. You can balance secondary weapons around limited usage if you're concerned about infinite usage. Silksong's devs clearly weren't bothered about infinite usage, because they're lazy and don't care about creating a combat system that truly utilises your entire arsenal. Plus it's gives them an excuse to just dump a bunch of shell shards as a "reward" for "exploration", instead of coming up with meaningful rewards for players.
>>744584362>It would encourage much more experimentation and item use.It wouldn't encourage experimentation at all. As for more item use, that is not inteded, they are limited secondary tools/options, something which you casuals can't seem to comprehend.>Sekiro in particular had certain bosses where you only had like three shots to beat certain bosses in a non ball busting way because the resource needed to break through their damage reduction was limited to like 2 you had to buy from a merchant.Again, another casual self exposing take. Those ghost bosses are optional and skippable, if you are out of confetti, you can come back when you have more confetti. Confetti is not limited, I have 500-600 in my inventory on NG+3 or 4, I don't remember.
>>744584489You're hallucinating again, Grok. The Hunter buff increases needle swing damage, making it better for melee purists too.

>>744584673>You're missing the entire point. You can balance secondary weapons around limited usage if you're concerned about infinite usage. No, you are the one who is missing the entire point. If you have a large amount of them that automatically refresh on rest or which you can just stack on via merchants, then the intended "limitation" is lost. ESPECIALLY for bad players who suck at the game. FromSoftware and Team Cherry know better than you, that is why they are S-Tier developers dominating their field and you are a nobody who got filtered and is seething on /v/.>Silksong's devs clearly weren't bothered about infinite usage, because they're lazy and don't care about creating a combat system that truly utilises your entire arsenal. If the combat system DEMANDS that you use your entire arsenal, then there is no longer such a thing as secondary systems or optional tools. >>744584673We get it, you are butthurt the enemies outside the capital barely drop any prayer beads.
Amazing game but my only problem is the retarded last phase of the final boss where its not about skill or memorization anymore, more like figuring what the fuck is happening on the screen. Seriously I got stuck for 3 days before lucking out. Not sure if they have nerfed it
>>744584825>Farming is not a punishment. It has no effect on the player. It is one of the best punishments. It is a genius system. You low IQ shitters on /v/ don't know what you are talking about, FromSoftware and Team Cherry know better than you, they are superior game developers and designers to you losers, that is why they are S-Tier developers dominating their fields while you are losers on /v/ seething and coping about getting filtered.

>>744584702It would. Resource management on a run is the whole point of good souls games. But when resources become truly limited the incentive is to not use them at all until something stops you. But since the games are so easy that almost never happens.>I have 500 on ng+No shit, you can buy them infinitely when you get far enough. But what kind of bitch made solution is that? >>744585661I am once again asking for the Silk Snare back in Act 3.
>>744585536It's actually not. You OD when the number of lifeblood masks you have is the same as the number of actual masks you have. In theory, if you avoided every single mask upgrade in the game you could always OD with 5 needle stabs with any crest that gives you a red slot to do so (ie not shaman). By the same token, where you get the masks from is also irrelevant, you cna actually OD with every crest in the game if you go to wormways and hit the lifeblood cocoons from act 2
>>744584905Your entire argument is based on the premise that "From/Team Cherry did it, therefore it must be perfect". Then every further point you try to make is just bending over backwards to try and justify the original premise. There's no point continuing the discussion because you are too brainwashed to consider any alternative viewpoint.

>>744585778>you cna actually OD with every crest in the game if you go to wormways and hit the lifeblood cocoons from act 2*can. And once again, Shaman cant do this
>>744585778That's a pretty niche caveat. Whose gonna Nerf themselves or walk all the way to the lifeblood sacks and then not touch a bench or fast travel just for the buff on another crest?
>>744585904Those were just the two thief tools. I had thematic builds for every Crest by the end of the gane. I've posted it as a "tier" list before elsewhere.
>>744586031>True but then you look into what OD actually does for you>constant health regen>your bind will always heal 1 HP two crests immediately stand out because they have gimmicky binds that neuters their normal healing. Now, they passively restore HP (especillay godtier on beast that's built around facetanking) and the bind always restores 1 HP on top of whatever you'd notmally get (now Witch can heal 5 fucking masks with one bind cast)OD is absolutely worth doing on them
>>744586119It actually worked out pretty well. Everything felt suitably buffed with nothing too broken or meta while the color theory remained nice for almost everything. Reaper and Beast admittedly became sort of junk pile crests by the end.

>>744588330I am being limited in my options and ganeplay variation by the fact I'm good enough to succeed without tool use to boost or augment my toolkit. The only incentuve to use a tool is essentially roleplay or just curiosity. If your logic is that's fine then there is literally no drawback to switching to the other system.I did beat those bosses with the limited confetti offered and it was great. Those bosses then lost all interest upon subsequent pkaythroughs because you can just stack confetti and trivialize the fight. If confetti was limited to one or two replenishing stacks regardless of NG+ level I would still need to fight those bosses in a way that maximized the value of each item use.>You can stack I finite healing grassI know. Thats the system you're promoting. Infinite grinding for resources and merchant purchases. Do you prefer that over flasks? You're disparaging blood vials, but the rally system is more in line with the design philosophy I'm talking about than the one you are.

The game is designed this way, you can beat it without using the tools, doesn't mean that you are beating it optimally though. Tools are useful for some scenarios, much more useful than your nail. You not using them is your choice. The fact that you can't comprehend this is very telling about your IQ.>I did beat those bosses with the limited confetti offered and it was great. If confetti was limited to one or two replenishing stacks regardless of NG+ level I would still need to fight those bosses in a way that maximized the value of each item use.NG and NG+ experiences are different by design. If you want the NG experience, make a NG playthrough, not a NG+ cycle playthrough. You keep blaming the dev for your own choices.>I know. Thats the system you're promoting. Infinite grinding for resources and merchant purchases. Do you prefer that over flasks? You're disparaging blood vials, but the rally system is more in line with the design philosophy I'm talking about than the one you are.No, you don't know. In Demon's Souls, you can literally have 99 of a grass item on you ready for use AND there are multiple grass types you can cycle. This is not the case with Bloodborne Vial system, which is capped at 20 by default.YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED THESE GAMES.YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THESE GAMES.>Do you prefer that over flasks?I am fine with both systems. Bloodborne has the best implementation of any healing system done by FromSoftware, so I would be in favor of that one.1/2
>>744588659>You're disparaging blood vials, but the rally system is more in line with the design philosophy I'm talking about than the one you are.No, it isn't. Rally system and Blood Vials go hand in hand, they are designed around each other.2/2.I'm done replying for now, going to play some more Silksong, will check back in later.

>>744554458Pellen is cute. I hope the don't troon him out too.
>>744553838i haven't finished it, but what i played, i don't get what people found hard about it. the bosses have clearly telegraphed attacks, and the rooms where they throw hordes of enemies at you are always a few screens away from a bench.
>>744589540For more context, Pellen and Gibson are married men, and in the case of the former the guy has three children.
>>744581743>Cannot say anything about the actual game
>>744589695Pellen has three children? But is he divorced?Asking for a friend.
>>744589349This was already explained to you. It's a systematic incentive. Tool use is optional in both systems, one is simply far more condimucive to curiosity and experimentation. The other one punishes engagement by potentially requiring a period of grinding or busywork.I will blame the dev for designing a NG+ that provides a worse experience than base game, yes.Your entire final point is defending a system that leans into the design ideas you're arguing against.
>>744582140>not just bosses that BTFO silksong but even normal enemies and minibossesNine Sols is petrified of having you fight groups of enemies. There is hardly any variation in enemies you fight over the game. Minibosses are also endlessly copy pasted. >no general contact damageSilksong/Hollowknight are built around contact damage. Do you want me to point out that all Nine Sols enemies are designed to be parry-able? And that their ai will awkwardly shuffle around you so they can also be parried?>packs a fantastic story in that timeframe>touches some genuinely fucked up themesMuh story. Silksong absolutely crushed Nine Sols as an actual GAME.
>>744553838the game feels like a complete chore to move in until you get the dash/dodge move. it's like expecting me to play mmx without the dash.

>>744589772As far as I am aware, no. He announced his third child was on its way in the latest interview they did last year.
>>744554458he looks the same
>>744590152>his third child was on its wayIt's crazy how much progress we have made with surrogacy, can't wait for in vitro gametogenesis
>>744585019Bad players do not reflect on their actions, elsewise they would cease to be bad as soon as they realized they decide which keys they press
>>744553838This year was really good on games, yet Slikpantsu still comes out on top. It's that great.
>>744589865>Tool use is optional in both systems, one is simply far more condimucive to curiosity and experimentation.Wrong. One has a limited tool system by design, the other doesn't. You can have the curiosity and experimentation within that limited system, you just have to be smart about it.As I said earlier, good players deserve to be rewarded, bad players deserve to be punished, that is proper game design.
>>744591675This might apply to the majority of bad players, but not all. Regardless, the system must give them this opportunity, if it didn't, it wouldn't be a good system. Team Cherry and FromSoftware know what they are doing (except for Elden DOGSHIT Ring).
