This game is a mafia-flavored xcom/jaded alliance game and it's actually awesome.
>>744563265i just remember it got a weirdly emphasized feature in a nintendo direct that no one paid attention to
>>744563265It was not awesome. It was okay.
>>744563265EoS was a solid idea for a game, but as someone that pirated it and played maybe 20 or 30 hours. The early game is fun taking over rackets and building shit up and the combat is fun, but my issues were:>economy is kind of fucked and varies wildly between "you're fucking broke" and "completely broken infinite money glitches>UI has dozens of pages of actually irrelevant stats and bullshit that just needs to be cleared up or better organised. >mid-game turns into "fucking everyone is attacking you for no real reason" Total War style. >the diplomacy is Civilisation tier awful. AI factions just turn on you on a dime for seemingly no reason other than they're programmed to backstab you. >combat is either extremely easy or extremely bullshit. You lose 2-3 of your main party members that were carrying through forcing you to give up on the run or just savescum constantly so they dont die. Fun game though, I remember it being very hyped when it was about to release. Then release day came and everyone forgot that it existed.
What I didn't get is why it chose to have the map spread out in little sections all over, instead of just having one big city map. Would've looked cooler, been easier to manage and less annoying to move characters around. Its the 2020s, we're not limited by small maps anymore so loading times or performance issues cant be the reason.
>>744563265it's actually shit. I downloaded it a while back because I was on a 1920s kick and I had to drop it within an hour.
>>744564134My biggest gripes are>melee attacks are just as effective if not more effective than shooting regardless of class>enemies spam nades way too often, including literal suicide bombing if you are ahead>it's often unclear, if not unknowable, why you cant declare war or do some other action involving another faction>some missions have requirements to complete or advance that arent made clear and it can easily be assumed the game is bugged when it isnt for certain things
game is fun but as mentioned above>game just goes full bullshit hous into the run>Ai auto defend is shit, either uses too much resources or fails, forcing you to play manually, and its end up being easy>at some point its impossible to cover your huge territory>not enough mobs to hire eventually, so you can cover the territorydunno how much better its nowadays but I played it on gamepass basically at release
>>744563265Maybe not a Halo killer but it was still fun.
~One of these things is not like the other ones, one of these things just doesn't belong~
>>744564191>Its the 2020s, we're not limited by small maps anymoreYou are if the devs are incompetent.
>>744563265
>>744563265>1920/30s>italian-american organised crime>wahmen and blacks are treated as equal
Was this John Romero's turn based mafia themed stinker or was it Omerta City of Gangsters
>>744568986It was Xcom if it was a business management sim in a 1920's skin, made by Paradox. Came out during covid, there was lots of hype for it before it came out then it just sort of fizzled out on release cuz its fine, its just a bit bland and early versions had lots of exploits. It got a DLC and a few updates then kind of got left alone. Pity, if it got the Stellaris treatment (aka: completely reworking entire game mechanics over time) or a modding scene it could've been better. If you like tactics games though just pirate it, its worth a play.
>>744568964>Release date: December 1, 2020I mean you basically had to back then or you'd go to jail lol
>>744570312I am too much of Tony Soprano lookalike to not give a shit about it
