Why doesn't Kyle Schneider ever get mentioned in MGS1? Isn't it a little strange that Gray Fox dying in the previous game and becoming a cyborg ninja in the current one is quite literally the exact same identical situation that happened to Schneider in the previous game and nobody decides to mention it?
Kojima retconned tons of shit over the years
>>744571009But Metal Gear Solid was released in 1998. That's only 8 years after MG2, so there's nothing to retcon yet. You would think Schneider would be mentioned right after the same thing happens to Gray Fox?
>>744570908Kyle/Black Ninja/Black Color was just a regular ninja, not a cyborg ninja.
most of being a creative is just remixing and refining the same like 4 ideas you have
Kyle Schneider is literally unimportant overall besides being the first big twist reveal for veteran players that Snake was being used as a hired gun to kill people. He's not important to Snake, he was just a rebel that he got in contact with and "died" off-screen. He doesn't actually serve any greater purpose to much of anything in the narrative, and he wasn't even actually killed, just recruited and then trained for ninja combat in space. Meanwhile Gray Fox was effectively an actual cyborg ninja made out of the resurrected corpse of Snake's own former best friend in Foxhound turned enemy rival, and a big step for shit just getting horribly, horribly out of hand in Snake's life altogether.
