The problem with Pokemon that I think Palworld revealed is that even though the story of the Pokemon games make a huge deal about befriending your Pokemon, the actual gameplay experience is basically just treating them as collectibles

They don’t really feel like they’re your “partners”. In Palworld your pals help you do things beyond just fighting and being mounts. They carry things, find things, mine, help generate energy, etc. You see them work, smile, cry, get bored, and so on and you literally need to rely on them to survive. The Pals feel alive and have their own personality

The Pokemon games, meanwhile, with their limited budgets, production values and scope don’t have this

HMs exist but they're very rudimentary.

the anime shows pokemon helping, loving, caring, personality etc etc like palworld does, but yes, the games themselves practically have not even a crumb of this interaction except for possible dialogue mentioning a certain pokemon enjoys a trainers sunday dinners.
It's a pity, because everyone imagines this sort of scenario with pokemon but the mainline games never mess with this it's all very shallowly added or non-existent.
A shame, too, because that shit would rock peoples worlds if your Diglett dared to even smile and laugh with you as you chilled out on the beach rather than it just being a weapon for you to progress the game and only that

Cakes?
>Fruits to turn shit pals into brick palhouses
Huh? I've only found skill fruit.
>Pal Surgery Table
Not far enough. I'm struggling with Palworld and I'm absolutely not doing nearly as much base building as the game wants. I'm not a base builder, and I'll happily admit that while I'm playing blind and getting much out of exploration - I'm starving to death and struggling to beat any major fights.
>25 hours playthrough one
>Only beat Zoe and got crumbled at the next tower
>Weapons suck ass and I've been leveling stamina and weight only.
My playthrough might be bricked.

Retards are doing things like putting "Palworld' as title and doing "___ addition" things so the threads are going to be kill on sight soon. You can only have active threads for new games if you don't give them the appearance of a general.

you can get the talent/IV fruits rarely from chests and you can buy them from the dog medal merchant.
Basebuilding is pretty mandatory, You kind of hit a wall around refined ingots or maybe a bit after without making a usable home base and one or two satellite bases.
Weight is the one to spend on, you get most of your survivability from armor and pals do plenty of damage until post-game.

They're not retards, or at least, not all of them are. I think those threads are getting made like that specifically to get it pushed to /vg/.

Cakes are what you need for breeding.
Pals have IVs (potential) for health, defense and attack. 0-100. You can buy or find fruits to raise one of those IVs by 10.
Make sure to go for the 5 Pal capture bonus, both for XP and to make for better workers by condensing. Start leveling health for a bit and then attack. If you need more stats, dungeons give you potions to increase player stats.

Don't neglect base building. The game hits you with walls that are intended to be easy with a reasonably updated base, but hell if you haven't bothered with it. Basically just make sure to build the new production things, staff your base with better Pals (each level in a job is +~50% speed, a 10 handiwork Pal is over 100x faster than a 1 handiwork Pal), and use the research table every so often, and you should be fine.
If you need a simple food, salad (tomato+lettuce) is easy to make infinity of and can last you and your bases for the whole game, though it isn't the best food.

>I'm not a base builder

Then Im sorry, but you won't get far at fucking all, period. Having your pals create (or help to create) the things you're going to need later on is a CORE COMPONENT of the game. Meaning, if your pals can't work, because you dont build the facilities for them to work in, they can't help you. And your pal is your single greatest asset to both taking damage and dishing it back out that you will get if you refuse to build any base infrastructure.

Building is a requirement. Learning how they work, and what skills feed into them, and how pals go about working more efficiently is a requirement.

You don't even need to make things pretty. Just build the shits that allow you to progress.

You don't need to focus on making an organized pretty base, but you need at least to gather the resources, create the crafting tables, and have your pals work on shit.
Also, food so that the base is self-sustainable.
But if that part is not for you, then you are probably not going to have fun.
I guess you could mess with the sliders to make resource gathering easier.

Palworld is NOT a cultural phenomenon.
