It's easily solvable by separating ranked and unranked (free to join and leave mid session).
>>
>>744578840
There's a subset of gamers that just want to get home from work and relax, while not feeling left out from the gaming scene, these typically are also dads and will actively make every game shit since they want games to have low mechanical depth and progression systems that consist of 30 minutes of dailies. Devs should not listen to them and communities should make fun of them.

Ranked means you face people who are your rank (aka other shitters)
>>
>>744579176
The problem isn't SBMM-it's TABMM(Tel Aviv-Based Match Making) instead of trying to match people of equal skill they rig MM to optimise engagement and playtime. CoD and OW are notorious for this
>>
>>744578840
>I shouldn’t have to put in any effort of face any challenge in the game because thats for tryhards!
>also I still want to win and beat people online
This is why I love games with 1v1 ranked matchmaking because I can just instant surrender the next match every time I win one, and keep my rating artificially low to farm noobs. It's like playing vs AI, except there's more variety and it's more fun because I'm probably ruining the day of a kid who just started playing.

When you win the game is over and there is no more fun.
If you're just playing to win the normal way that's fine, it's when you start being a sweaty meta-faggot that it becomes mental illness and destructive to the game.

When meta-sweats start to infest a game they push out the rest of the playerbase who are just trying to play the way they want instead of some cookie-cutter meta build, which would marginalize the playerbase into all playing identically, which isn't fun at all. Additionally, the Fun-Players eventually quit the game because they are tired of losing to meta-sweats, which then causes the games playerbase to dwindle. Eventually all that is left is the meta-sweats who then also quit because they are mentally ill faggots who just wanted to stomp some casuals, so when they are met with nothing but people playing the way they do, they realize it's not fun to play against, so they quit too, inevitably leading to the game of the multiplayer scene for that game, if not the game entirely.

Bottom line, Sweaty Meta Gamers are Parasites that kill games and should be hunted down and driven out.

No it doesn't. In order to give him games where he can't lose the MM system would have to be giving other people games where they can't win. If you're not going to secretly match people against bots there is no way to solve the conundrum of retards who want to play online but never want to lose

This is the primary complaint against SBMM by grifting content creators, giving them fair matches causes them to lose which makes them look worse on streams and videos. These people only want to play games where they get to beat up new players

I will never understand this ass backwards mindset that the people who just wanna chill and enjoy their game of choice are somehow the issue, and not the degenerate tryhards that play the game for 25 hours a day and boil it down to the absolute most optimal strategy / meta / gimmick to win 100% of the time. Compfags have always been a plague upon gaming, and I'm tired of pretending they aren't. They ruin every game they get their grubby little hands on.
>>
>>744582701
If you’re just enjoying the game why do you care about winning or other people being good or not?

I don't want to lose every single match for all eternity because I'm not running the meta like everyone else. I just want to chill and relax without being punished with a kick to my throat for not sweating my balls off like everyone else does every match, forever. It's not fun.
And then you'll just say git gud or something, completely oblivious to how retarded you sound, yada yada, this is why games need a separation between casuals and tryhards.

Anti-SBMM is cope and the reason /v/ hates SBMM so much is because this board is a tranny-tier hugbox
>>
>>744583948
Most retarded post ITT. SBMM doesn't work because you have ultra sweaty faggots intentionally throwing games so that they can stomp newfags over and over. A really good example of this is Dead by Daylight, as a lot of it's content creators have been shown doing this exact thing as Survivors so that they can record themselves bullying fresh install Killer players.
>>
>>744584053
>SBMM "doesn't work" because sometimes a small percentage of people will go to great lengths to get matches against newfags
>Instead we should continue with the system where everyone gets to stomp newfags whenever they like with no effort
>>
>>744584380
>Hmm this current system doesn't work because people are able to stomp newfags
>Let's use a different system that still allows people to stomp newfags
The mindset of people that think compfags aren't a problem, everyone. Take it in, witness the purest form of retardation.

Games SHOULD be balanced around intermediate players who usually play on their own (or with friends but with the assumption those friends are trash).
Competitive players can and often play fan formats with ban lists. If something is broken in that environment, comp players can ban it.
Meanwhile the regular players sre just shit out of luck in terms of balancing. If something is egregiously broken in a regular setting, those regular players have no options to deal with it besides hope the enemy is kind enough to not use it themselves.
Inversely, some times you get something in comp that’s broken, but perfectly fine in regular play if not underwhelming. Like the Caber in TF2, which got nerfed hard because you could get cheeky Medic kills with it and Sticky Jumper. That being much harder to do in regular matches since most servers are 12-16 players for both teams and there being no class limits either.

Jealousy combined with inability. It's why they still shit on fighting games, its why fortnite and overwatch is/were popular. It's why casuals in the Smash bros community still hate super smash bros. melee even to this day. It's why all series get nerfed for the casual minority which is now the majority.

Casuals are jealous bitter people who look at others who work for their skill, and see it as a problem rather than an accomplishment. Casuals are also easy to pander to because you can make the lowest common denominator game, shit it out onto a plate and they'll consume because its simple. Complexity is the enemy.

I will take a lobby full of sweatlords over a lobby full of fresh installs any day of the week. Ironically I find tryhard lobbies much more chill to be in.
TF2 as an example I can play scout and not have to immediately swap off to deal with a sentry, my team will make distractions for me on spy, when I have uber my pocket will hold w, I don't have to check my back every 0.5s on heavy, when I drop a tele at spawn someone else will upgrade it for me, I never have to ask my team to swap off 4 snipers, I never have to beg a pyro to extinguish me, etc etc.

Hell if I'm just having a bad day it's nice not to have to sweat my ass off if I want to keep my team from being spawncamped and if I'm doing well I'll get some good duels in against the top player on the enemy team. When both teams have a base level of competence steamrolls and stalemates are much less common.

I do not get this mentality many players have of intentionally using dogshit loadouts, afk congaing in spawn all round, and refusing to improve or be a team player ever. Many of them clearly hate losing by how butthurt they get when they get dominated by a veteran but when you ask them why they're using the liberty launcher and bison they get offended. It's not like there's a shortage of casual servers either if your diet consists of crayons and glue why are you on upward and not 2fort? Better yet why play a team fps at all if you hate your teammates and you hate deathmatching? I genuinely believe the average gamer nowadays is mentally challenged how many people seemingly can't read, lack basic problem solving skills, and have the situational awareness and pattern recognition of a brick. Trying to melee a heavy as scout did not work the last 10 times why do you keep doing it?
