Is it funny how it aged like shit?
>>
MN9 really was the death of video games
>>
BTW it would have been good if they actually focused on the game itself instead of planning a fucking movie out of it

Inafune saw the kickstarter numbers and thought he could make it a franchise.

LIKE AN ANIME FAN ON PROM NIGHT

Nah, Inafune is the kind of guy who needs a tardwrangler of some kind, be it a suit or otherwise
the reception to the kickstarter swelled his ego and he overdid it 1000x
and then multiplanned with shit like Red Ash
just nonstop fucking shit up

>MN9 really was the death of video games
It was way before that. Pic rel was the swan song for the medium as a whole. And it really shows when Popcap milked the fuck out of it's worth wherever possible, to the point it became unrecognizable. Which nowadays almost everybody is following suit.

I'm so glad he's getting the criticism he deserves, the shilling in that time was fucking insane. At the same time I admire him. Mostly because he didn't throw a temper tandrum, claiming his flagship franchise as his own creation (Yuji Naka). Of course, there are autistic fans defending them as if their life depends on them.

>people expect a concept artist to be able to make a good video game from scratch
At least Iga had been in the trenches making games during his career not just drawing pictures.

>he did the menu for SOTN as a placeholder and everyone on the team thought he was going to go spruce it up later and because he'd done it no one else wanted to touch it just in case and it ended up just being that generic blue menu
lol Iga
that sort of experience is INDISPENSIBLE to a project lead because it gives them insight into various issues teams might be having with the backend as well as understand the time and effort necessary to do this or that so their expectations of how long something will take are much more measured

that was EA
>>
>>744582658
It was Popcap who thought about microtransactions before EA bought them
try again

Funnily enough Bloodstained turned out to be decent despite his fuck ups later on during his castlevania career.

Can we talk about how Mega Man died by Capcom milking the fuck out of it during Y2K?
>18 games spawned in 2003
>they still make certain games despite they already ended (Mega Man Zero to ZX/Battle Network to Star Force)
>all of them are either shovelware (X7) or mid to low-budget titles
>>
It is funny how all the "legendary" jp devs are either has beens or fakes.

If you combine pre-gg gaming journalism with autism (read: sonic and pokemon) then you get people treat them like gods.
>>
>>744581767
They made a mobile game and three spinoffs, anon, that's not "milking".

NTA but it wasn't supposed to be a one-off game?
Since George already worked on Octogeddon at the time when PvZ2 was in development.
