Contrarianism is a trait of high IQ. Public consensus is formed by 80-100 IQ brainlets who do not have the mental capacity to articulate *why* they like or dislike something, so they defer to the trite script of ecelebs and 'well it's popular/has good graphics, so it must be good!'. The contrarian meanwhile, understanding that the ontological framing of a 'public consensus' is inherently flawed, simply enjoys the game for what it is and makes no judgement. The brainlet, frustrated by the ease of which the contrarian expresses individuality for enjoying a game that they cannot see how it can be enjoyable, tends to overcompensate and dig in, despite now knowing full well that their opinion that 'Dark Souls 2 is a bad game' is ontologically invalid, because such an opinion is derived from comparison to a 'good' that was determined by public consensus.

>>744582187Having an opinion contrary to popular opinion isn't bad in and of itself. Contrarianism is having that opinion BECAUSE it's contrary to popular opinion, and that's just being a faggot iconoclast.
>>744582187Contrarianism is the trait of a midwit
I knew this cause normalfags listen to the sloppest of turds on the radio too
Highest IQ is liking whatever you want ragardless of goycattle and contrarianiggers opinions
>>744582187>despite now knowing full well that their opinion that 'Dark Souls 2 is a bad game' is ontologically invalidPeople think DaS2 because they played it and saw how shit the movement is and how bad the levels are
“Contrarian” is a term co-opted for use as a meaningless pejorative in order to vaguely call someone else’s authenticity into question and, by extension, claim authenticity for yourself. It serves no conversational function and imparts no information, save for indicating the opinions and preferences of the speaker. Suffice it to say, no one self-identifies as a contrarian; the term is always applied to an Other, to separate the authentic Us from the inauthentic, “incorrect” Them.
>>744583230is terrible*
>>744582187Stupid people do not decide what they like, they get told what they like by marketing and "hype"; they dont set consensus because they dont even set their own opinions.
>>744582187it's a trait of the extremely stupid to make a thread trying to justify one's own behavior
>>744582587thishigh IQs will naturally tend to have opinions different from the cattle masses, but it’s not because of a desire to disagree
>>744582187It's the opposite, goyim are herd animals and herd animals that do not follow the group die. You are defective.
>>744583618high IQs naturally hate the cattle masses, it's one and the same.
Contrarianism is desperate, attention-seeking behavior. Usually a cry for help.
I think most people are contrarian but just try to edge out that side of theirs to comform. It's not low IQ so much as not wanting to spend any effort and time disagreeing about vidya.

Contrarianism is a trait of no IQ. Basically a non-sapient bacterial life-form that does not make independent choices but instead is forced to make actions by external forces beyond its control. You can easily manipulate and control a Contrarians actions. Also Video Games.

>>744582187I'll be taking those frogs
actually thinking or believing anything for sure is low iq, I wake up absolutely terrified and confused everyday because I'm super smart
OP says this but will still say E33 was bad, because he isn't a contrarian due to his IQ but because he wants to feel special.
>>744582187Well. Contrarianism just for the sake of being opposite to the popular opinion is unhealthy. But in general, yeah the "popular opinion" is usually fucking retarded and such retarded opinions get parroted around by idiots because there's a program in their brain that says they need to fit in with the herd of other retarded animals.

>>744582187Public consensus is formed by rich jews who stabilish what plebs should feel and think. And they account for the sheep who think they're different from the masses, too. They give us niches.

>>744582187It really isn't. High IQ is being able to respect popular things while disliking them.
>>744584082There's nothing preventing 80-100 IQ people from enjoying something that high IQ people enjoyed as well. There's going to be some domains where this applies but not all. Off the top of my head you have guitar hero which was a mass appeal event, no IQ required to like a fun rhythm game.
>>744590505There's no reason to respect something that's poorly made.
>>744591036Low IQ take, especially with the "poorly made" angle
I agree with everything you've just said
is this the frog thread?
>>744582187DS2 hate is built on a foundational bedrock of mechanical jank. Novices to experts all identify this underlying property. DS2 isn't worth even mentioning. The real low IQ fromsoft game is DS3. DS2 receives adequate criticism befitting its faults. DS3 does not receive accurate criticism.
>>744591248Baby jumps, badly programmed hitboxes, and gurney enemies (bad animation visual feedback).
>>744591405Is this a specific example? Since you're clearly refusing to counterbalance the flaws and see why it's popular. In other words, low IQ take.
having opinions is low IQ
>>744591686Where's the comparison in a list of isolated qualities of DS2 you pseud? It's pure observation devoid of comparison.
>>744592291I revealed your blindness to merit and in your high IQ you missed that. Calling me a pseud for it is just another example of it.
>>744582554>Tranime poster
>>744582187Midwit take that borders on going somewhere. The status quo is not intrinisically poor, nor is contrarianism intrinsically good. Railing against the norm strictly for its own sake is meaningless. It's when it comes from a place of genuine restlessness with the status quo, a realization (if not need) that things can and should be more than just an accepted standard, that contrarianism goes anywhere. This is usually the crux of the best arguments in favor of such a perspective, that less accessible or comprehensible concepts have the capacity to coexist with the norm and compel in their own right. Simply screaming "muh different = more gooder" is just pretentious nonsense.
