This market is so oversaturated. How is real enjoyer of fighting games suppose to keep up with so many releases and updates all happening at the same time? SF6 update, Melty Blood new game details, and then it's straight into Tokon on thursday. What the fuck?
>>
>>744585421
Ryougi was always the cutest TM heroine.

There this thing called "skill transfer" you can apply on any familiar game you've played before.
>>
>>744585421
Why are americans so obsessed with capeshit?
>>
>>744587275
How is that possible when all the games are so different?
>>
>>744587370
Probably why weebs and japs are so obsessed with shitty manga?
>>
>>744587370
What >>744587671 said. What a dumb question to ask
>>
>>744587613
>when all the games are so different?
once you learn how trad fighters works, is no issue
once you learn how 3d fighters works, is no issue
once you learn how airdashers fighters works, is no issue

and so on.
You just gotta read how the game's system mechanics works and how most of the cast plays
>>
>>744585421
the new shit is all tag D(E)I slop and you will have more fun getting better in 1 game than many at once.
>>
>>744587613
Seeing as how so many of them are incorporating universal mechanic attacks, they're all looking more similar than ever.
>>
>too many fighters
Boy lemme tell you about the 90s

Slime into 1 button autocombo
>Tokon
Looks okay but no Linux no buy

BBCF is all I need

>Slime into 1 button autocombo
it doesnt have autos and no throw loops. doesnt make it good ol slime?
>>
>>744587613
What games would you call different in todays market anon?
>>
>>744592087
It does have autocombos, in the FGO stream where they showed Twi-Lumina off yesterday, they were talking about how the combos they were doing only require you to keep pressing one button and anyone can do them. They also replaced the moon with drive gauge (stylized as a bunch of stars), and added drive impact among other things.
>>
>>744592561
They also added "Modern" controls
>>
>>744592561
>>744592598
There are also rumors that it's going to launch with fewer characters than Type Lumina
>>
Act Mode (Stylish/Modern) mode basically does a full combo for you. The video shows the guy hosting the stream with Kamone basically mashing the same button, getting a grounded combo, launching, doing an air series, coming down with a Moon Move, and doing a super at the end.
>>
>>744592561
I thought the auto are bound to the modern mode and the technical mode has no autos. Don't forget Type Lumina hadthe option to disable auto combos
>>
>>744593373
Yes but most characters wanted that second autocombo hit so they just had it on the A+B button.
But you are right, there's an Act (modern) and Duel (classic) modes now.
>>
>>744593421
well TwiLuminais nothing like Type Lumina so I doubt autos will be needed in combos and I'm pretty sure the modern mode will function like SF6 and limit the characters from using their entire kit. if this is the case then that's already an improvement over type lumina and I don't get the negative feedback
>>
>>744587613
>move back and forth
>press button with good range
>cancel into special sometimes
>throw or mash light if they're close
Looks the same to me
>>
>>744593618
>well TwiLuminais nothing like Type Lumina
Too early to tell. There's not enough information to neither be dooming this hard nor defending it this hard with positivity imo.
Thankfully I've been pretty detached from MBTL so either way it goes it doesn't affect me too much.
>>
>>744594275
NTA but the dooming on MB far outweighs any positivity. I've seen a ton of posts straight up lying about what we've seen of the game already to doom harder even. Granted, they've earned the scrutiny, but the level of shit the game is getting is intense for having fixed so many things people were complaining about.
>>
>>744594926
>so many things
Isn't it just the meter abundance being nerfed? That's merely one of my own complaints among many but there's not enough footage to gauge the others.
>>
>>744594926
What are they dooming about besides the drive impact?
>>
>>744595127
Some super retards have been dooming about the possibility of characters being cut from the roster because the only showed off four characters. As if FB have EVER done that shit when most of their games don't go through a big enough visual overhaul to necessitate cutting characters.
Some people literally make shit up to get worried over.

Shield rps removed. Moon gauge replaced and Lumina bar can't possibly be as bad since you can burn out on it. Infinite block strings likely won't happen because resources have been limited so much. Character homogenization seems to be fixed. Hit stun reduced. The event sucked ass and they really should have revealed at least Nanaya to get him out of the way but the demo was basically them showing that they looked at all the player base feed back and did surgery to fix the problems. TwiL might still suck ass but it'll suck ass on its own merit instead of grandfathering in MBTL problems.
>>
>>744595505
>Character homogenization seems to be fixed.
A bold fucking statement.
>>
>>744585421
You aren't, you're supposed to pick a team then make fun of everyone else who didn't pick you team.
>>

>There Are Too Many Fighter Games
There are, but not many that aren't built off an existing IP. melty blood, tokon, avatar, inviciable, etc, are all licensed fighters.
>>
InvincibleVS is forgotten and I remember anons being genuinely happy about that product
>>
>>744595691
Brand power is important, opens up a lot more leeway for secondaries.
>>
>>744595505
>Moon gauge replaced and Lumina bar can't possibly be as bad since you can burn out on it.
You say this like burnout isn't an anti-fun mechanic in its own right
>>
>>744595739
It's fun but it's extremely kusoge and a hard sell now that Tokon and Avatar are right there.
>>
>>744595639
>>744595691
Fighting games are turning into jobs like Gacha games. You play like 6 of them for an 1 hour each per day, some of them have actual dailies too attached to their battle pass lol
>>
>>744595739
Every western fighting game is cursed for one reason or another. Internal struggles between devs, ownership issues, the works.
Nothing bombastic happened for Invincible Vs as far as I know though but I imagine it'll rear its head eventually.
>>
>>744595742
It is important, but it's bad when the success of those types of games influences the original games. Auto combos in a game like Tokon are fine for that audience, but what happens when arcsys eventually brings auto combos into their own games, like Guilty Gear and Blazblue?
>>
>>744596176
Devs made their voices clear that they want money more than they want a hard core audience.
>>
>>744595559
It's less about TwiL and more about how fucking bad MBTL was about it. Moon and shield homogenized characters like crazy. Oki was basically all "set up lingering hit box and then mix up out of block stun" and characters had limited movesets. Move sets were pretty simple so everyone was playing footsies into easy confirms into block pressure. Shiki and Mash were an example of two characters that basically always obsoleted the other depending on how good one was in a patch but the new moves will definitely vary their game plans from each other a lot.

>>744595791
Burnout does suck and I'd rather not have an "available from round start" universal resource at all but my point is just that TwiL is carrying a ton of criticism from MBTL that's visibly untrue now. I think there's a solid chance the game will come out with like, only 4 new characters, broken FB net code, no crossplay that will cripple the player base, and gauntlet and lumina will ruin everything. I just think it's unfair for people to say that shield is still broken when it's been shit in MBTL for years and they removed the RPS mechanics in TwiL.
>>
>>744587370
They have no culture
>>
This was always the case. Fighting games were like yearly sports releases and COD for arcades in the 90s. Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury, Street Fighter, Street Fighter Alpha, Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, Darkstalkers, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter, and Tekken were all released in the mid 90s at one point from 1992-1998. Multiple games in most of these series. That's 12 different series for those who can't count, most of which got multiple games in a 2-5 year timespan.
>>
Like face it, when excluding the doomer/ old boomers who can't cope with fighters, the most of you are fomo extremist that'll buy any and every fighting game being hyped up over social media. Your next purchase is Tokon, because, you have to be there with everyone day one. And it's not a money problem, you have plenty of spendable funds for slop. You know who you are, no need to pretend you're not.
>>
>>744597769
This is missing a smug anime girl image.
>>
>>744597769
What if I enjoyed the tokon beta and are excited to play the game with my friends
>>
>>744593618
with how FB structures their combos those autocombo will still matter for stabilization and squeezing max scaling.
frankly that's not even an issue unless you're a mashing scrub.

>>744595505
>Infinite block strings likely won't happen
can't judge that yet. TL's issue was a lack of good defensive mechanics and we still don't know how shield really works (imo what really matters is whether there'll be a patient defensive mechanic)
>Character homogenization seems to be fixed
very far fetched assumption. we've not seen enough for that yet

>>744596623
it goes way beyond that. combo structure is samey shit, everyone had the same fucking health values, ex meter usage is the exact same for everyone and the toolkits are as dry as you can get
>Oki was basically all "set up lingering hit box
not even. projectile oki only works for some chars. others like kohaku can't do plant and dan's bells also get disrespected.
>>
>>744596623
Oki to me was just launcher > AT > double jump into 50/50 alongside the lingering hitbox stuff. I don't think there's been enough shown off to truly say those types of offense will be THAT augmented with the addition of new moves, although it is undeniable that said new moves can potentially alter the combo routing and the way pressure can become less homogeneous.
Still, Mash just spinning her shield like a Goldlewis 6H doesn't necessarily spell "varied pressure".
At the very least we don't have to worry about 3-4 pressure extenders with EX moves.

anon
its the same game reworked
its not a new game
>>
>>744592703
And it's absolutely fucking retarded someone would think that.
The same retards who were worried that Akat and Sion wouldn't be in UNI2. Where do these people even come from?
>>
>>744585421
Most people find their niche and only play 2, maybe 3 fighting game series. This is especially true in the modern era where you're expected to pay for 5 to 10 years of DLC if you want to keep up.
For normal people that means SF, Tekken, and MK.
For anime people that's Arcsys games. Sometimes you'll find a true weirdo who exclusively plays French Bread games or AH3.
Other stuff only catches on when one of the established names screws up.
>>
I think the bigger problem is that none of them are good and they feel like shit to play. Maybe Avatar but I'm not sure how much of that is just being better than its peers or the new sheen still on it
>>

What's wrong with Tokon?

it's none of them are good why do you keep going on about them not being good? You guys don't realize how miserable you sound spending years being disappointed with fighting games
