Not really. You can unlock new bramfaturas but that’s done through quests. There’s also an endless mode but I haven’t unlocked it yet. I think they intended the pacts to be the real endgame, with that whole complex crafting system and tons of variations, but most people don’t use them at all.

Hmm... After the initial excitement and testing few things out, it seems that there are certain limitations on what you can recycle and that makes it less broken.
For example, most medicine is a no-go.
Turret cycling requires a LOT of time, but at least now the "turret class" makes sense and is viable.

But regardless, in my opinion recycling is the most important upgrade as it enables both a decent bounce-back mechanic and enables playing a lot of resource intensive classes that I considered shit (for example, the indirectly aforementioned "Tilfton's Elite" class that can edge deployables like turrets or "Martian Mech Inf" class that edges advantages of implants, As before if you died - you were fucked since crafting all those implants again was unreal).

I know I'm not particularly gifted in conveying information, but I REALLY ADVISE rushing and maxing out recycling upgrades for ship asap, as it fills so many apparent holes in game's ecology and opens up so many options. At the very least, it "solves" the awkward situation were you have to go to missions naked to scrape gear.

You will later cry because you can't get those spare chips fast enough and you'll need a lot of them. Muahaha.
>>
>>744589182
The way I do it was always early game kneecap the Hexarchs as much as possible without actively tanking my rep with them into the deep negatives. This way they are scrambled in the midgame and easier to manage while you upgrade the Magnum. I've played a whole game with Realware being less powerful than the Civil Resistance on paper. I also actively empower the Civil Resistance since they can be a good stonewall for the Hexarchs if they get some steam, but they almost always have fizzled out unless given constant support
>>
>>744593082
Spare chips are needed for class modding anyway.
>>
>>744589453
The disassembler is how you get a good amount of materials now. Stockpile everything until you have it unlocked and upgraded then you'll be set.
>>
>>744589752
Rush the monitor upgrade in communications. This allows you to scan for additional missions in planets. If you do travel try to stay in a region. Just jump between locales until something generates rather then spending a month in transit to a new region.

seriously, what the fuck is this horseshit?
i make it all this fucking way, sacrificing every one of my trained boys with their expensive gear and this endless fucking horde appears
why?
what the fuck kind of balancing idea is this?
it's not a case of the floor being alerted: i killed literally everyone the last attempt and this happened
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
>>
>mission going well
>q-meter maxes out despite me chainsmoking
>sultan spawns
>oneshots me with his laser hand

>>
>>744594187
Every mission you should try to rush the objective as fast as possible killing only who you need too. Also when stealthing a floor are you locking doors behind you? I always lock doors when proceeding through a level so enemies movement is restricted and I don't have mobs close in from behind.
>>
>>744594410
Q-Meter ideally needs to be managed while its low. Quasis being present and killing enemies causes it to rise exponentially. Real fun thing to do with it is spike it very high then chainsmoke and drink and all Quasis will despawn once it hits 0 so you can preclear a level without a Baron spawning. You just have to have the consumables for it.
>>
>>744594443
No, that's not how this works. The horde spawns in when you get to this room and the message appears.
>>
>>744594578
Oh story mission? I don't play those until the magnum is fully upgraded and I got some of the late game weapons. I'd recommend putting them off.

>>

>>
>>744587145
Is the Dev's "vision" for the game really that any mission type that has a significant amount of NPCs will hit almost 600 ratings the whole floor exploding into monsters as soon as you start shooting at enemies?
And then you are suppose to complete 3 more floors, potentially having the boss spawn before you can even get to the last floor?
>>
>>744594807
Why are you rushing the teleportation engine so early? I genuinely don't have a problem with managing corpo power in the early to mid game as long as you don't move around to much. I don't travel beyond mars until the late game and stay in the cores.
>>
This looks like it might be good on the 'eck but these autistic devs never add controller support or UI scaling
>>
>>744595369
Stealth the first 3 floors as much as possible. Lock doors behind you. Bring drugs to keep Q-Meter low for what unavoidable encounters you may have. Avoid 4 floor missions in general unless you absolutely need credit and/or rep bonus with said contract poster.

Earth's satellites and Venus & its satellites.
Do a checklist:
- Have scanner upgrade that unlocks missions
- Have crafting upgrade so that you can replace gear faster
- Have recycler upgrade so that you do not starve for resources

Quasirape meter isn't really that big of a problem if you hunt mission objectives and do not linger. Once you get recycler going, you shouldn't go around picking trash anyway and should mostly haul additional firepower (which is also good for recycling).

With no name, we go onward
Armed with scraps, we will hold out.
By the originals, war unending
Contracts we honour, forever-bound.
(Francis) Eternally maintaining weapons
(Isabella) Poisoned in soul and flesh
(Percy) Eternally enduring; knife, bludgeon light, bullet, poison, or shell.
All burning in hell

We’ve all been forsaken(Cursed by the past)
Tormented yet brazen (Down to the last)
A duty weathered down to dust
We serve because we must

(Priya, Mirza)

The war goes on, our numbers stay,
Counting deaths instead of days.
Give your life to earn freedom,
May the original, forever ashamed.
Coms ring out with static
Signals lost, they never came
Here we’re left to dwell in silence
Lamenting our name is not our name

We’ve all been forsaken (Cursed by the past)
Tormented yet brazen (Down to the last)
For our CEO we hold
Our stories, never told

(Edward, Niko)

Gather ‘round the staying embers
Will our false light ever dim?
If it fades will they remember?
All our numbers? This broken hymn?

Long decayed, the ones who cursed us
Their bodies rotten in golden crypts
They have stolen all our splendor
Father, mother: their's to give.

We’ve all been forsaken (Cursed by the past)
Tormented yet Brazen (Down to the last)
Our vigil, until the stars burn out
A fate we cannot count

Is heavy armor a trap in this game early? I got to around 20kg as melee percy and while I tanked a lot of damage, the million of wounds I got chewed through so much medkits, bandages and splints in the 4 floor mission I went through. Was close to dying on the last floor since the civ guys do not drop much plastic to heal fractures their guns do.
And that was with just tech 1 civil resistance mobs.
>>
Oh nice implants have blueprints too

What did they mean by this?
>>
>Kcal/weight
does decreasing this increase the amount of energy you use when carrying a lot of weight, or increase it? I can imagine in both ways

>>744601442
for melee you really want dodge, or light armor at most. and you can't really carry much because it slows you down and reduces your dodge. I think mid/late game you can get heavy armor that works for melee though

You'll find implants later that do insane shit like generate shields and shoot lasers out of your dick, you'll want them, and with the implant lab upgrades you can cancel out some of the negative effects. The early game ones are mostly garbage parts from random robots. she's good at melee and can eat humans with zero repercussions unlike everyone else, so you can send her in with basically nothing, basically zero risk, and have a decent chance of winning if you're lucky and good at taking advantage of situations. not so great against the demons though.

This game doesn't feel finished. Every mission is a series of repeated rooms.
It's common to see the the same room three times on the same floor, multiple times a floor
If you're gonna proc gen abuse and make maps nonsensical mazes at least have some fucking variety

How do you actually play this game? The tutorial seemed reasonable, but I've now failed five attempts at just the first mission. I feel like I must be missing something.
>>
>>744617248
She's immune to infections which makes the basic necessities way easier to come by
>food? just eat people (although you will wake up the quasis outside of absentia)
>bandages? just use rags
>splints? just use plastic
That makes her perfect for minimal gear runs, so you can often just toss her in with a knife and grab everything you need on the way.
>>
>>744617578
nope
thats just how the game goes at first
biggest tip is to not open doors with only 1 ap left because if you do that and someone is behind the door that means they get the next turn and can just blast you while you stand there
same for going around corners
its best to open the door and then use the other ap to hide behind the corner
>>
>>744617578
Prepare for everything and anything. In reality, you are going to get fucked. There is only so much you can do or carry. You have to be careful but specifically know what you're up against. Some companies have guards armored in stuff resistant to regular ballistics, some just poison, and some for energy weapons. In a way, you have to adopt the same strategy against who you're running against. The starting strat is to have Francis with an SMG firing blunt 9MM in one hand and a shredding shotgun in the other. Plus, cannibal starter Isabella you can send in with just a knife
>>
>>744617578
It can be hard when you're new. Camp corners and chokepoints, never open a door on 1ap unless you're sneaking, if you find water bring it with you for putting out fires and healing, etc.
>>
>>744617042
I've always explained it as them looting the place just like you would
>>
>>744617578
shotguns are by far the best weapon early and mid game. buckshot always hits due to it being 5 pellets and enemies have low hp and armor so unless they're 6+ tiles away they'll always either die or take enough damage to trigger pain shock

If you find yourself in trouble, take the time to look around and make a plan if possible. Examine enemies to see their speed, that's how many actions they can take (movement or attack), same as you. So for example, if a melee enemy is two squares away from you and has two speed, you can ignore him this turn to shoot his friend with the gun, then take care of him next round when he'll be standing right next to you.

When you have good cover, it can be very strong to switch to sprinting. Step out, fire, step back into cover. Repeat as necessary.

It's almost always worth "wasting" ammo to guarantee a kill, by firing in full auto when a single shot would kill them IF it hits. You can get fucked by missing and leaving someone alive.

Examine enemies and see their wounds. If they're hurt bad enough, you can just take cover to reload and they'll die before they can reach you, or just pass out from the pain and bleed out by themselves.

also, even if you do everything right, it's possible to just get fucked in the ass sometimes. But you can maximize your odds by planning well what equipment to bring (for example, armor that's good against the damage types an enemy faction uses) and gitting gud at the ingame tactics and calculations.

>>

>>
>>744619551
the best is getting weapon and armor chips and upgrading those. This is a bit mid-late game, since you need to actually FIND the chips before you can upgrade the items.

Upgrading your mercs DNA is also great.

Early game upgrade to get a capsule and more storage space.
>>
>>744619551
Mission generator, scavenger squad, cargo capsules, and map scanner are IMO the biggest early impact, since they help you get more resources in less time (both in game and for the player) and thus get the other ship upgrades faster. The map scan also massively reduces the need for food, anti-quasimorph drugs, ammo, etc, since you can find the elevator in a fraction of the time and not spend a hundred turns just to reach a dead end.

>>
>>744620095
nta but it’s a fool’s errand to try and force specific upgrades. The only thing I look out for is all the materials leading up to the management unit and horde those until I have everything before spending the excess. You’ll get what you need as you go.
>>
>>744620167
I guess missions you generate would reward +200 on completion? I think when you get rewarded they roll from the allowed pool by tech level and relation until reward point worth of goods have been awarded and any points not allotted into items becomes corpo credit.
>>
>>744620515
It's also based on their current production iirc, which is why you get shit like loads of a single item early on
>>
>>744620454
Not forcing but at least upping your chances in an RNG-based game. I ended up getting stellar loot on Comms and factory stations in my current run. I'll still probably end it mid game when I get rekt by an MG spray or a rogue disc beheading.

I really like when games make the starting class well rounded instead of shit. The satiety reduction and dodge chance alone make Scouts such a great choice of the bat. The initial class should be well rounded, and then the added classes are niche, but more powerful. I cannot stand when a game gives you a starting class and its just abject shit and any other choice down the road is an unquestionable upgrade.

I really love this game, even though I play it a bit odd. I never trade. I never try to boost up rep with a corp. Idc about pacts. I just do missions & story missions. I just really dig the base gameplay and dynamism

One of the biggest tips I can give you is to never turn corners or open doors unless you have two or more AP. If you keep getting killed this early you must be giving guys too many chances to shoot at you. Play corners and doorways and let the enemies come to you.

It took me way too long to realize the big number on armors is just the sum of all the different types of protections the armor gives. Ears and eyes are used by the pact system. Heart I believe is used in at least the sang-b recipe but it's perishable so you'd need the freezer. Poo is used for booze. If it's an augmented limb you can possibly take it and if there's an implant you can possibly extract it

It plays like a traditional roguelike mixed with doom or something, you are a group of juiced up space mercs who go on missions, kill everyone, take as much shit as you can carry home and then do it all over again. There are alien demons who start spawning into our universe whenever people like you do massacres, cannibalism, etc, so during missions shit gets out of control and the violence snowballs into a total shitfest super fast. It's really rewarding and enjoyable to play and has a really fun difficulty curve.
The game is fun enough to play just based on that shit alone, but in the midgame you can totally customize any character, character class or piece of gear you can craft to make insane super soldiers who have amazing skillsets that all combo together and equip them with customized guns that reload really fast, do more damage, fire custom ammo, etc etc.
The game's fun as shit.

if you're just starting out, I don't recommend going against Coreward MG or Tianming. Even Civil Resistance is probably something you should avoid unless you're sure you can get a drop on them. One fucking hit from a saw launcher and you spend the rest of the mission as a bleeding amputee.

Isabella is really good for farming dicey missions that you want to get gear from but don't want to risk better operators or equipment. Send her in grab some gear dump it in the shuttle and capsule then either actually try and complete the mission or go on a sucide charge then restart with a better operator.
>>
>>744617316
Eh static stations could work but reinforcements should increase the defenders to make re-entry harder. Though I never run anything truly rare until I have the chip for it. So all losses are normally easily absorbed past the early game.

>>
>>744630846
>>744630882
Yeah. Bring a ton of ammo, multiple turrets if you have them. You don't have to bring drugs/booze to counter quasimorphosis as it doesn't increase on defense missions, but without humans to scavenge ammo from you're going to need to bring a lot. Tez units do drop quasi ammo, but not super often. Those big lizard bastards and spiders can be a fucking pain in the ass so don't forget your medical shit either.

Max HP and dodge chance are good for upgrading your soldiers, you want them to have at least 150 max HP, maybe 200. Class edits swap out the old perk for the new one you added.
>>
>>744630882
No.
If you do defense, it's 570 worth of enemies. If you do conquest, its 4000 over 4 floors(1000 per floor).

I don't know which perks are which by the icons, but if those grant dodge bonuses they'll be good. Just remember that weight fucks up dodge, so you'll want to store heavy loot in containers near the elevator if you've got so much shit that your dodge bonus is destroyed.

yes. Difficulty affects only one achievement, the one where you have to get to the end without dying on Unfair.

You can just keep putting rags and plastic over it(ideally plastic), eventually it will work. Your chance of healing goes up by 5% after every attempt.

I'd prefer a post game. Unless it just reverts you back to before you started the mission after you're done. That's nice.

I don't know what "ending" means in this game's context. May just mean an ending to a major storyline.

one of the top reviews on the steam page says a lot of the gameplay involves busy work like 'saving 1ap every single turn so you can peek around every corner to avoid being obliterated by something', or skipping turns a bunch?

Is that true for all of the game or just early game cause doing that constantly would be a dealbreaker for me.
>>
>>744635787
You don't ever really need to corner peak because you can see through walls in sneak mode.

Sure but it really isn't as slow as you imagine it to be unless you are a giga pussy and plays it uber safe. I usually sneak around and open doors carefully and it is smooth enough that it doesn't feel annoying.
>>
>>744635914
that's pretty standard for roguelikes and turn based tactics games, it's called AP management and holding a position
if you want an action top town extraction shooter Duckov is right there
