I got an rp6 a few months ago and I quite like it. don't really get people who collect tons of them though
I used the Steam Deck which is the best emulation device of all time.

I bought a handheld emulation device, it was cool for like a day. Not a fan of handhelds, last one was a gameboy color as a kid.

I dabbled with emulators here and there but never got an actual device for it. When I got my steam deck, I found out that I absolutely loved it as an emulator, possibly more than for steam games. I’ve had a lot of fun using it for anything from gameboy era up to PS2/Switch, and almost everything plays flawlessly outside of certain switch games, a few GameCube titles (the rogue squadron games and Metroid), and one or two ps2 games. I don’t think I would ever get another emulator but I wouldn’t mind a dual screen solution for better DS emulation.I’m glad emulators became so mainstream and the handhelds are available. Whether or not I use them, I will always support having the ability to do something over not having the ability. I was going to buy a steam box and make it into a tv-based emu station, but the price is retarded. Ill get around to it one day, and god knows Ill never actually use the thing after the convenience of a ‘eck emu.
I use my mini PC as a superconsole and that's all I will ever need for emulation

Don't fall for "this is the one" YouTube videos, they do it for almost every new handheld that comes out. Currently it's the Retroid Pocket Nova being shilled left and right as the "perfect handheld." There is no perfect handheld. They all have flaws which will irritate you. And you'll always have Android bullshit to deal with on Android handhelds, etc. Some games are always gonna run like shit no matter what you do, that's just emulation. Just pick the one which fits the type of games you play or want to play the most, watch actual unedited emulation gameplay videos (everyone loves to show you the thirty seconds a PS2 game runs perfectly and then quick cut to the next game), and go from there depending on your budget.

My Odin 3 finally arrived yesterday after two months and a half of ordering it. Been very impressed so far. Ironically I'm using it more like a mini steam deck than a retro console emulator.

Unlike home consoles that were designed to play on CRTs, the GBA and its LCD display matches up better with devices, assuming you have one with a display that can integer scale the original resolution neatly. Overall, there isn't really a huge role for emulation devices outside of a niche here and there, unless you're poor and can't afford the better options and just want one to do the job for everything even if it's suboptimal
